I didn't receive a complete timetable of what was going to happen before the start of the tour. So frequently, I only knew what time I was going to be picked up for the day's excursions on the afternoon prior. Airplane tickets were received by WhatsApp on the afternoon prior to the flight. One hotel reservation was changed and I only found out when I arrived at the new hotel. This was disconcerting and stressful at times. Mostly things worked out OK and generally the local excursions and local guides were excellent. We've been in such traditional places far away from all others tourists, at any moment we were forced to buy something. Our guides in all cities was nice, so experienced and a good both English speaker. they introduced us ethnical peoples, they were so friendly, generous, welcoming with us. We wanted to see Chiang Mai and Vientiane- company suggested we also visit Luang Prabang and we were so happy we did. It ended up being one of our favorite travel destinations to date. The trip was priced well (quite low compared to some of our local agent options) and the accommodation choices selected for us were really pleasantly surprising. We didn’t expect such modern hotels. Stephen assured us that transportation was reliable as well, and we can confirm we were really happy with the logistics of the trip. While we weren’t too sure on the guided aspect of the tour, it ended up that this was one of our favorite parts of the trip. We learned things that we never would have known, visited some truly local places and did so with the comfort of knowing we were there with a pro.
