- Hannah· March 28th, 2025My Kilimanjaro climb was incredible and the Almighty Kilimanjaro team done a fantastic job of making it such a great experience. Swalehe was my main guide and his calm, no nonsense approach was great. He knows just how much to push you, he also makes sure you don't overthink of get worried. After being a porter and a guide for so many years, he's really knowledgeable and able to assist with anything you could ask of him. Charles was my waiter and he is one of the kindest, most helpful men I've come across, really sweet, always on hand to help you in any way he can. Armani was my assistant guide for the summit night and without him I don't think I would have made it through. He was encouraging and so attentive, my fingers were freezing cold so he rubbed them, blew hot air on them and done everything he could to keep them warm as we climbed. The food was very nice, portions were huuuuuge! One thing that could be improved is the communication from Raashid prior to the trip. Contact was very limited and only for I was able to try info from other companies and friends who had done the hike before, I would have felt very under prepared! He answered questions that I had but I always had to ask 1st and I felt that things like packing lists, tips for preparation, etc could have been sent. The hotel (Salinero Hotel) that they put you in the night before and the night you finish the hike is really nice!!Show more
- Hawa· March 23rd, 2025I booked with Almighty Kilimanjaro directly, and they were amazing from the get go- good communication, I arrived at the airport and they picked me up to take me to the hotel for the briefing and checking I have all my equipments and if not I could rent some stuff. My guides Dismas & Amari were honestly the best enthusiastic guides ever!! I spent 7 days with them, and with every trek they were smiling, patient & welcoming on each day. Very knowledgeable too, learnt a lot about flowers, birds, the history of Kilimanjaro mountain. On summit day I struggled the first hour and Dismas the lead guide was fantastic, I stopped about 11 times and he was very patient, encouraging and was with me every step of the way, and due to the this I managed to reach the summit and made it back safely. Definitely would recommend this company, fair price & excellent service. My thanks to all the porters, guides & drivers who helped make this experience the best one ever!!!!Show more
- Ilham· March 18th, 2025How do I put into words an experience that was life-changing! First, I had a great group of friends to travel with (7 in our group), all with different levels of hiking experience. We started with five in our private group and added two later. Our agent, Rashidy was responsive and patient with our millions of questions about the many details of the trip. Don't be afraid to ask your questions at any point of the process. The logistics on the ground were well organized, from the airport pickup to the Salinero hotel in moshi, processes of check-in, equipment rental and weighing, and meeting with our guides. I liked the hotel staff's strict verification system of items stored in their safe while on the mountain (passport, cash, etc.). I can't say enough good things about Swalehe and Frank, our guides. They were knowledgeable, professional, kind and supportive. We felt informed and safe at every step knowing they had checked our equipment and our health to ensure we were well-prepared for the day's activities. I was very impressed with the entire porter team, from our chef, Shabani, to our potty porter, steve. The toilet amenity greatly contributed to the success and comfort of our trip - highly recommended!. We were fed tasty, large meals to keep up our energy and Isaac fed us drinks and snacks at his pop-up trailside cafe. I recommend you pack your own non-meltable snacks in case you needs something mid-trail or mid-safari. The porters were all very professional and helpful at every point. I never heard any angry arguments, swearing or complaining - amazing for a group of men with the many heavy responsibilities they had. It was difficult to say good-bye to our guides and porters - we definitely left a piece of our hearts with them on the mountain. We also did a five-day safari adventure with Almighty kilimanjaro to recover from our hike (reviewed separately). It was so nice to have their expertise to manage the seamless transition from the hiking to the safari. There were so many more details I could mention, along with some nice amenities that Almighty kilimanjaro included, but will leave those as your enjoyment and surprise when you travel with them!Show more
