- Pia· November 24th, 2024I had an incredible experience traveling through Bhutan with Bhutan Acorn Tours. Karma was exceptionally responsive, accommodating my requests to customize the itinerary, hotels, and meals before my arrival. Everything went smoothly and exactly as planned once I got there. The highlight of the tour was connecting with my guide, Kezang, and her sister, Tashi, who was also my driver. They were both so kind and dedicated, working hard to create a truly memorable experience. Their warmth and effort solidified my belief that Bhutan is a place I’ll return to again and again. Forever grateful.Show moreTrip date: November 2024

- Maja· July 30th, 2024I’ve just completed this tour and it is amazing. First the accommodation was great and being off season I had few privileges (great views in all the hotel I’ve stayed), no other tourists or waiting times or crowded around. If you are lucky to get Nidu and Norbu for your tour you are in for a treat and unforgettable time Second, the nature is just breathtaking and the temples are just as mesmerising. Grated you have to hike to get to some of them but it’s worth every drop of sweat. Lastly the people in Bhutan are so welcoming and friendly. The hospitality is on another level. If you think visiting Bhutan, just do it you won’t regret it.Show moreBhutan Acorn Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear Maja, I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay! - MBMark· April 2nd, 2024We just completed an 8 day tour of western Bhutan, with a 3 day trek to the Sagala Pass and Chelela Pass. Bhutan is a beautiful country and exceeded all my expectations. Bhutan Acorn T&T were fantastic! In the planning stage they were very responsive and understanding of our several requests for change to the itinerary. They were very organised and efficient in arranging the visas, government fees and flights to Bhutan. Our guide (Norbu) and driver (Thinley) were also fantastic and went above and beyond in looking after us. They were both very kind and helpful and their knowledge of Bhutanese history, Buddhist practice and local flora and fauna were exceptional. I would not hesitate in using Bhutan Acorn T&T again.Show moreBhutan Acorn Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear Mark, I am glad you enjoyed your trip to Bhutan. - RERoger· March 25th, 2024Firstly, just to clarify, I came to Bhutan mainly to see the great outdoors, the architecture and to get a feel of it's history. I had no great interest in the spiritual, mystical, religious or cultural aspects of the country, including it's art and crafts. I certainly had no interest in shopping or souvenirs. Due to the above I skipped most of the items in the tour related to arts, crafts and shopping so cannot comment on them. I booked a group tour and paid a single supplement only to find on arrival that I was the only person on the tour. The company communicated very well and was quick and responsive to my queries. When you compare Bhutan trips on Tour Radar be sure to note if the tour includes entrance fees and the US$100 charge to endure you compare like with like when looking at the cost. This tour didn't include the fees but was still very competitive in pricing. The tour was well run and the guide Tashi Sonam and the driver Tandin were terrific. I must mention that I was very unimpressed with the fact that I could not do the Dochula to Lumitsawa hike that was included in the itinerary as according to Tashi the track is currently unusable. If this is the case then do not put it as an option in the itinerary - it's false advertising. This hike was actually one of the reasons I chose this trip. The hotels were of a good standard with comfortable facilities but all were located well out of town centres so at night there wasn't much option but to sit and read or watch streamed TV. The idea was to avoid noise which was laudable, except for the fact that the biggest noise pollution in Bhutan is barking dogs at night and they were a problem at every hotel. One hotel in particular the Dewachen Hotel was an absolute nightmare with supposedly stray dogs living on the property and barking incredibly loudly directly outside my bedroom window from 9 PM until dawn. I have industrial strength earplugs but level of noise and it's proximity defeated them. I was a wreck the next day and the hotel manager refused to take any responsibility or do anything about the problem. I managed to get food poisoning on the last day so never got to climb to the Tigers Nest but ended up spending a large part of the day in hospital. It was at this stage that the guide and driver, Tashi and Tandin came to the fore. They took me to the hospital and then stayed with me for the rest of the day until I was safe and sound back at the hotel. Absolutely great service guys! My overall impression of Bhutan was that while the scenery, hikes, walks and sites are interesting and pleasant they didn't really grab me in any great way like other countries in the region such as Nepal did. The problem of course is that given the above, when you take into account the huge daily fees and expensive airfares charged by the government then that erodes the value for money equation to such an extent that I wouldn't go back.Show moreBhutan Acorn Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear Roger, First and foremost, we want to express our sincere gratitude for choosing TourRadar and Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel to organize your recent trip to Bhutan. - YYT· March 22nd, 2024I enjoyed the trip a lot. My guide Tshering Dema and driver Nidup Wangchuk were really friendly and inspiring. I learned a lot from them, not only the culture of Bhutan but also about life. They were knowledgeable and were there for me to ensure that I was comfortable throughout the trip. Not to mention about the breathtaking views in Bhutan and the lovely people I met there. Bhutanese are warm and friendly and I love to meet people from all walks of life. I wouldn't have such a great experience without my lovely guide and driver and I'm glad I've chose Bhutan Acorn Tours. - Robert· March 18th, 2024What an incredible tour of an even more incredible country. Peaceful, restful, relaxing, beautiful are just some of the qualities of both. The history and culture are equally amazing. It is hard to write a review of this experience without sounding like an exaggeration. Bhutan is truly worth the time and effort to visit, and Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel is an exceptional agency with which to experience it. Accommodations were first rate. The people of the country are unbelievably friendly and accommodating. From the beginning to the end of my initial contact with Acorn I felt the commitment to ensure my every concern was accommodated. Mr. Karma quickly and efficiently secured my visa, flight reservations and travel arrangements with ease and consideration for my individual circumstances. It is hard to put into words the comfort I felt dealing with him. Reliability is only one of them. On the ground, Mr. Norbu, my guide, and Mr. Nidup, my driver, ensured that I experienced and understood all that I saw. Patience and desire to ensure my trip was enjoyable, educational, and inspiring was clearly their primary goals. Mr. Norbu never tired of my questions even when asked over and over. It was like traveling with two knowledgeable friends. When was the last time you sat watching an archery competition (Bhutan archery is unique) or played a few games of snooker with your driver and guide? I cannot recommend this tour more strongly.Show moreBhutan Acorn Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear Robert, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay in Bhutan! - Justyna· January 21st, 2024I embarked on a remarkable journey to Bhutan together with my sister in January 2024, and the entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the seamless online booking process to our departure from Paro, every moment was enchanting. Our pre-travel communication with Mr. Karma from Bhutan Acorn was exceptionally smooth. His timely and detailed responses ensured we were well-prepared for the travel, and the efficient handling of the visa procedure by the agency allowed us to obtain the necessary permits promptly – within just four working days. Our joy was further amplified by the presence of two outstanding Bhutanese guides, Tashi and Mr. Bumpa. They not only accommodated our last-minute preferences but also prioritized our safety and comfort throughout the journey. During hikes, they adjusted to our pace and made the challenging ascent to the Tiger's Nest enjoyable. Their insightful narratives on Bhutan's history and culture, coupled with their open-mindedness, great sense of humor and friendliness, made us feel like part of the family after just one week together. I will miss them enormously! Bhutan, with its captivating isolation and authenticity, left a lasting impression. The people are intelligent and welcoming. For those choosing Acorn, I highly recommend opting for a homestay at Leki's in the Punakha Valley. This unique experience provided glimpses into the daily life of Bhutanese people, delightful home-cooked meals, and serene moments around the fire with the locals. The breathtaking view from the house ensured the most restful and profound sleep I've ever experienced.Show moreBhutan Acorn Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear Justyna, I am delighted that you enjoyed your time in Bhutan.
