Ultimately, I enjoyed the route and the walking day-to-day was relaxed which took in some great views of the mountainside. I did not find the hiking too difficult and even though I could feel the altitude, the guide and support team were very well drilled in making sure that you gain altitude in the right time frame and adjust accordingly. When required, the team were on hand to support above and beyond if you had any issues that needed resolved. My guide Mango was very professional and great fun! His early morning songs and dances, supported by the team, were a breath of fresh air and most definitely welcomed! It added to the overall authentic experience of being in Tanzania. I would recommend Kili Slope and Safari Tours to anyone looking for a trip at a good price which is delivered by a professional, friendly and enjoyable team. My only point of awareness that I would like to make for others, would be the expectation in the amount of "tip" that is expected over a 6-day trek. As with many activities in Africa undertaken by Western Tourists, it is not so much a tip that is expected - rather a subsidised salary for the team. What I mean by this is that you are expected to give $300-400 for a 6-day trek of Kilimanjaro which is divided by the Guide, Porters, Chef, Watchman etc. I had a team of 6 in total support me. This is definitely worth considering when you are looking into trips and comparing prices. Other than that - a great trip!Show moreTrip date: August 2019
