The journey through breathtaking landscapes, including the majestic snow-capped Salkantay Mountain and the stunning Humantay Lake, was truly awe-inspiring. Each day brought new challenges and rewards, from crossing high mountain passes to walking through lush valleys and experiencing the region’s incredible biodiversity. One of the highlights was the connection with local communities. Their warmth and willingness to share their culture added a personal touch to the trek, making it not just a physical journey but a deeply enriching cultural experience. Relaxing in the Qoqalmayo hot springs after days of hiking was the perfect way to unwind and recharge. Participants in the group are scattered across different hotels, so you'll essentially be traveling alone. Occasionally, you may encounter the same people on different tours, but that is not guaranteed. Additionally, the tours are contracted, which means you will have a different guide each day. All tour guides spoke in English. When i needed to take a tour train and tour bus, always someone picked me up at hotel, drove me to train station and bus station. Always someone picked me up at train station and bus station when i got off and sent me to my hotel. So i did not have opportunity to get lost. Tour guides were very friendly. Only one night i was arranged to stay in a villager's home to experience local life on a island. And there was no running water. That was kind of difficult. Now i much more appriciate that i have running cold and hot water at home.
