- IMIsaac· June 11th, 2024Overall, a good tour. I enjoyed seeing the countryside, it's a beautiful country, and it was really nice getting to know my host family. I was very glad for my translator Amarbat, who was a fantastic translator and guide, especially because the host family knew very little English. We had fun together though, as they showed me what life is like for them and taught me some Mongolian skills and recipes. I also enjoyed showing them an Aussie recipe, which was a new experience for them. Shout out to Zula and Bata for being great hosts. I was a little disappointed when I visited Amarbayasgalant monastery, because the monk there didn't seem super interested in giving us much of a tour, and basically just described one room and left. Thankfully, Amarbat came through with some interesting explanations and insights. May was a pretty good time to visit, but I'd definitely want to come in the summer if I came back. If you're booking this tour, be prepared for a very slow and relaxed time, and expect to eat lots of meat and dairy.Show moreTrip date: May 2024
- DHDale· July 22nd, 2023What an unforgettable experience. Wonderful ! I can’t recommend the trip more highly. I didn’t want to leave. The scenery - the monastery - the horse trekking - all fabulous. Why really made the trip was my guises with TTR - Doljin and Amkar could not have been more welcoming and informative. I learnt so much about Mongolian life. They took me on great trips into the countryside of the steppes and even to their local friends t the Ger to sample traditional hospitality and food. They are all my friends now. Many thanks and can’t wait to return. DaleShow moreTrip date: July 2023
- TTR· October 31st, 2019Awesome trip. TTR Mongolia took such great care of us and we're so fun to talk to. They stopped the car every time we saw horses, camels, herders, statues, etc along the way so we could snap pics! Khustai was gorgeous; the wildlife was beautiful, mountains so green, unique rock formations everywhere. The ger camp was clean, had a sand box, picnic areas, volleyball net, and a basketball court. We took a nap then walked to the sand dunes and played for hours. Rural and peaceful. The kids had a blast. There was so much to explore and see, we wish we could have done the 3-day trip. Comfortable beds, delicious food, and snacks, friendly english-speaking workers. Met travelers from all over the world. I'd definitely come back to Khustai and do another trip with TTR Mongolia!
