From the moment I stepped off the plane, I was greeted with warm smiles and a sense of hospitality that made me feel right at home. The ancient wonders of Egypt are truly breathtaking. The Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Valley of the Kings are just a few of the many historical sites that left me in awe. The intricate hieroglyphics and detailed carvings on the walls transported me back in time to a world that was both fascinating and mysterious. But it wasn't just the historical sites that made my trip so memorable. The people of Egypt were some of the kindest and most welcoming individuals I have ever met. They went out of their way to ensure that my experience was unforgettable, from sharing their traditional cuisine with me to teaching me about their customs and traditions. One highlight of my trip was sailing down the Nile River on a traditional felucca boat. As I watched the sunset over the water, I felt a sense of peace and tranquility that is hard to describe. - Carissa· September 26th, 2021PROS: Great value!! Hard to beat this price. Beautiful cruise! You see all the same sites as the $$$ tours. CONS: You get what you paid for. They nickel-and-dimed us the entire time. They prioritized shopping (where they get kickbacks) over touring the sites. They had us shop for hours and only gave us 30 minutes at the famous Pyramids of Giza!! They made us pay for the tickets but then didn’t give us time to tour the tombs of the pyramids. The camel ride was only 15 minutes, after they promised an hour. We were VERY disappointed with the Cairo team for doing that on our first day. Additional services came with additional fees and high costs that kept changing. Water was not included and you have to pay for all entrance fees, so factor that in. While the $$$ tours included guides throughout the sites, our guides only stayed with us for 10 minutes then set us loose to wander - less informative than other $$$ tours. Overall: Best price and still enjoyable but watch out for those shopping trips and hold them to their word. Make sure you get to the pyramids before they close at 4pm.Show moreTrip date: July 2021
- SSSandra· May 11th, 2021Truly Egypt was Truly Awful. The owner, Mac, was like an automaton in our group greeting. He didn't even let us introduce ourselves to one another until I asked him to do so. He was about 2 minutes into his spiel when already he was talking about the importance of tips. At the end he said he'd be available to us via call phone 24/7. I subsequently called him twice and got no reply. Our guide Ayman knew little and could care less. He pushed us constantly for more money in tips. Speaking of money, my brochure and that of another party mentioned nothing about all the museum and temple fees we had to pay for even though these stops were part of the standard tour - not an extra. However, Mac showed us on his cell phone that the disclaimer was in the brochure and subsequently when I went to check, there it was. Magic! Without any warning they switched my schedule so I had to get up at 3:30 in the morning two mornings in a row instead of the original schedule in which I had a normal waking day in between. The only reason I'm not giving it a one star rating is b/c I had a good time with my fellow group members and the cruise on the Nile was nice. But we could have gotten so much more out of the temple visits; sometimes I listened in to another guide for info. I haven't even told you about how they cashed my tour payment and then told me I owed them hundreds more for a single supplement which the brochure explicitly said they didn't charge. (One of the reasons I chose them) Mac was unrelenting until I complained to TourRadar who then put pressure on Truly Egypt to let me on the tour without the single supplement. I should have known then that they'd be horrible. Again at the end of the trip they were not going to refund money for the cancelled Hot Air Balloon ride until I complained to TourRadar.
