  We are an Australian couple early 50s to set the context. We travelled with Morocco Tours from late Dec to early Jan with our guide Karim by van in a party of 6. The tour was as described. We did a lot of travelling to cover the vast country to experience a taste of Morocco from the blue city of Chefchaouen to the dessert dunes of Merzouga and into the Medinas of each city. The accommodation was in traditional Riads where possible which made for an authentic feel (Note can't recall any lifts, so lots of steps :-)) The culture and people of Morocco were beautiful and made the experience one to remember. Karim our guide was exceptional in making the tour run smoothly and adjusting the trip slightly to accommodate stops here and there. We travelled in early Jan which made for pleasant weather, cool crisp days and blue skies made the drive through the different changing landscapes spectacular. Each stop was different with some different to offer. Highlights were : Chefchaouen the city is filled with great photo opportunities, with the locals going to great lengths to dress up their lane/ passage with objects of contrasting colours to make great back drops. The tannery in Fes was smelly but great to see from the top. The medinas were great especially in Fes and Marrakech. If you are going clockwise, note that you may not see the same items in each Medina, so if you like something buy it !!. In Fes, the Clock Cafe is worth a visit along with with other traditional dining. We were careful with what we ate and Karim always advised what to do and not do at each stop. We also had an off-tour hike through the mountains around Dades valley stop which was kind of special and scary at the same time. The extra tour guides at each location were very informative and provided a different perspective. So if you are okay with long drives and in and out of suitcases this is for you. We will definitely return to Morocco again to visit our favourite places.

  Our guide Hassan was great- he was a safe driver, hospitable, friendly, and flexible. Our itinerary was perfect- we particularly loved our time in the Sahara. We feel like we were able to get a sense of each city and the different parts of Morocco on this tour. It is quite a bit of driving but we did not mind it as it allows you to see the different landscapes and towns of Morocco and get a few naps in. We would recommend this trip and our guide Hassan to any of our family and friends.

  My husband and I had a wonderful experience on the 9 Day Magic of Morocco tour. From our driver, Mohamed picking us up to his dropping us off at the end of the tour, everything was great. The riads we stayed in were great, albeit not located well for my husband that has trouble walking any distance or up stairs (My fault for not informing the tour company ahead of time). Everyone in Morocco was so welcoming and eager to show off their country. Since it was just the two of us on the tour, Mohamed was very flexible in making some minor changes to the schedule to meet our requests. Riding the camel in the Sahara Desert was just one of the highlights of the tour, a not to be missed experience. Mohamed was a very safe driver, and was always eager to point out places I might want to take pictures. He was also conscious of my husband's limitations in activities and always made accommodations for him. The tours of the medinas in Fes and Marakkech had great tour guides and I got to see a lot of the handicrafts such as pottery, rugs, leather, etc. being made. Of course I bought some wonderful items to bring home. The only negative was our "luxury" tent at the camp in the Sahara. There was no heat in the tent, even though the temps dropped down to freezing at night; the shower head came off the shower, so it was unusable. The meals were just average, although the bonfire and local music was nice. Guests should be warned that they will need to sleep in their clothes with 4 blankets if they are staying there in the winter. Overall, We had a wonderful time and Mohamed was key to that. We highly recommend this tour!

  The Hotels/Riads on the trip were very poor-2 stars. Most (but not all) were well located and the staff was welcoming, but poor bathrooms and very aged. There are very nice Riads in Morocco but we did not stay at any of them. There is a lot of driving;sometimes 8-10 hours a day in the van. We have a driver but no guide, so you have to use google maps to figure where you are and what you are seeing as you travel. This is a lot of time in the car without any information. The drivers are great and they will answer specific questions if asked but they are not guides. We traveled 4 hours to the Chefchaouen (blue city) and got there at 20:00 and left at 10:00 in the morning-long way to go to not have the opportunity to explore the beautiful city. The tour company sent no information on the trip until 2 days before and this was just a list of the hotel and dates. While we got to see lots of the countryside and major cities in Morocco, I would suggest paying a little more with a different tour company.
