Visiting Petra was amazing, but getting there was complicated. The bus picking us up at Hotel David Citidel arrived 30 minutes late. For the border crossing, we were told that we would have to pay $65 for the Jordanian Visas and that we could pay with our credit card, which was not the case. At the border, our name was not on Tour Radar/ Fun time travelers list which caused a delay in our crossing over. The men at the border were extremely rude and not very helpful. The guide that picked us up would not answer our questions and kept delaying the information we were requesting. His English level was intermediate and kept confusing everyone on the bus with his directions. When we would ask for clarification, he would get upset. The hotel in Petra, was adequate, but the desert tour accommodations were not. We wish that upon requesting this tour there was more information on what we would find there. The tents were Vietnam war like, very basic and very used. We opted to upgrade to a chalet, but that required paying an additional $60 to what we had payed. The dinner took place in a smoke filled enclosed dining area, with dozens of people smoking cigars, cigarettes, and hookahs with no options for non smokers or asthmatic travelers. They also played very loud music during the dinner. In the morning, we saw that they had other areas outside we could have eaten in but it was not mentioned to us. The returning to Israel was confusing as well. We were dropped off at the mall to wait for the tour bus and were told the hour to expect our pickup. When the bus arrived, the driver was mad and yelling at us that we were late- which we weren't, and the Funtime tour guy was late in showing up with our bags. We then had to return to the border to wait for the the passengers returning from Petra for the day. The entire confusion could have been avoided if more information on our itinerary was provided before hand. The last day caused confusion because we didn't know what was happening for lunch and dinner, only to find out that we were going to a local restaurant that was not included, and we had no idea what the cost of this meal would be. Again, just more information would have been appreciated
