- RLRichard· November 7th, 2024We had a wonderful time touring Bali seeing the sights, learning the culture, and exploring the different regions of the island. Our driver and guide, Rukun, made the experience great! He speaks English well, was a careful driver, and provided plenty of information about Bali and the culture. We asked him many questions and he was happy to answer them. I highly recommend this tour and highly recommend Rukun as your guide.Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- Barbara Elisabeth· September 14th, 2024It was a fantastic trip! It was my first trip alone as a woman and I am totally happy to have booked it. My driver and guide Asta was absolutely friendly and open minded from the very first minute. He drove me safely to all points of the tour and was relaxed despite the traffic and the sometimes adventurous routes. He was very attentive, paid attention and asked what my wishes were and was always available. It often felt like a road trip with a friend :) Asta has great skills as a photographer and for videos. We left at 4am for a photo at Gate of heaven to avoid a long wait. This trip gave me the oppertuniy to explore this wonderful island in a short time... and Asta's local knowledge and friendliness made it special - I can highly recommend it.Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- Gems· June 27th, 2024There’s a lot to do in Bali, time, budget and interests of a group can be deciding factors. After much research, I came across Putu Bali Drivers. The range of itinerary, affordability, included services, their high reviews, prompt responses, clear communication convinced me to choose them. Day 1: We were met with Miss Danika, our tour guide, very late at night after landing at Denpasar airport. Itineraries were adjusted to allow us to catch up on our sleep after a long tiring flight the following day. The included breakfast at the four star hotel was excellent. Nasi goreng every day! Day 2: We walked along the beautiful beaches, every beach has it’s own charm. There’s age limitations to activities, but there are age appropriate activities for all age groups. Sea-walking, paragliding was exhilarating. Seeing corals and vibrant tropical fish along the guided walk along the seabed, attracting fish to floating bread crumbs, while they nibbled away. *best bring your own rash-guard. We’d been pre-warned about the mischief of monkeys inhabiting Uluwatu temple. We quite didn’t make the sunset view, however the Kecak and fire dance, live performance was mesmerizing and moving, the cadence of the chorus, hypnotizing intricate movement of the dance, the art, storytelling. Hanuman was the show stealer with his animated antics. Day 3: Taman Ayun temple surrounded by moat, Ulun Danu Pratan Temple floating in the middle of Bratan Lake, swimming in clear water of the Banyumala waterfalls, amidst the vibrant tropical forest, and ultimately encountering a little snake engulfing a little frog, was an encounter with nature in it’s entirety. Franzipani – gorgeous. *Subak irrigation system – legendary. Day 4: Heaven’s gate overlooking Mount Agung. It’s a bag of mixed reviews. I understand why people are crazed to take a picture here, exactly as in Instagram or any social media out there, with the mirror reflection. The reflection trick - ingenious. Quoting Wiki here, “The Pura Lempuyang complex includes seven temples along the hiking path to the summit of Mount Lempuyang.” Visitors are only allowed in the outer courtyard/sanctuary. Tip: Prep your poses for the pics! Tirta Gangga – water garden in eastern Bali, beautiful garden, you can walk on the water (stepping stones), filled with koi fish, also an opportunity to take a short boat ride in the colourful traditional Balinese jukung boat with “crab claws” Another waterfall, Tukad Cepung, waterfall enclosed in a circle of cliffs. Pictures online are beautiful, the experience, is wet, watery, crowded and the brief seconds you get to stand in the circle with the water thundering and showering over you, still otherworldly. Tip: water friendly attire and footwear. Day 5: We opted to watch Barong dance early in the morning, the battle between Barong and Rangda. The animal like mannerism skilfully captured by the dancers in the body of Barong is so captivating, it is easy to forget there’s two dancers in there. The music, the dance, the storytelling, unforgettable experience. At the performance we attended, the interlude comedy to cater to western adult palate while having young audience, and a not very well translated story print outs, felt a bit awkward, like a little jarring scritch to a beautiful melodious tune. Workmanship, skills, artistry of Bali – stunning. The island is brimming with artistry. It’s a balm to the soul, pleasing to the eyes, breathtaking to behold. If you have space in your luggage, enjoy bargaining and your country allows the products (some countries are stern with wood/organic products), it’s a good buy. We prayed at Tirta Empul Temple (Spring Holy Temple), dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Yanika kindly showed up the Balinese way of worshipping, and it was interesting to note the differences and the similarities. Hearing Yanika’s account of the story as her grandparents had told her was beautiful. The story felt live, as Indra vanquished the prideful wicked king Mayadenawa, and we saw the spot where Indra pierced the ground with his staff, springing the well of holy water, the purifying water we’d bathed in that day. Note: it is difficult to find plus sizing in traditional Balinese clothing store, because Balinese people are very slim and agile. Skipped the swing, the rain poured down on us! We then stopped by a café with a view of Mr Batur, we didn’t actually walk up to the Volcano! In the evening, we walked briefly around Puri Saren Palace. We got too caught up in a shopping spree at Ubud souvenir market, sadly, we did not make it to the Sawaswati temple. Day 6: Final day! Rafting!!! The rafting guide was very skilled and knew the river very well. It was a pleasant ride, the river was not aggressive, with a few mild rapids. The stone carvings along the water licked, mossy cliffy banks, with tropical vines swaying gently, silently telling the stories of Ramayana. No trip to Bali is complete without Luwak Coffee! The controversial curious coffee. We received a tour of the place, the coffee making procedure, introduction and sampling of various coffees and teas and their benefits. Surprise, it tastes exactly like coffee! Day 7: Shopping at Krisna Store (Krisna Bali – Krisna Oleh Oleh). Affordable, fixed price, perfect for folks who have not mastered the art of haggling. We could have skipped the Ubud souvenir market. Some of us flew back earlier in the day, while some stayed back to explore Denpasar with Yanika before flying later in the day. A rapid blur, fun filled well optimized itinerary, Putu Bali Drivers have successfully provided a very personal, bespoke package tour to all who come seeking to explore Bali in a short duration. Balinese cuisine is exquisite, accommodation clean and comfortable, hospitality and kindness of the people, simply out of this world. We absolutely enjoyed Miss Yanika’s native knowledge. She is most kind and caring. Her colleague who’d helped us a day, our driver who drove long hours and manoeuvred tricky roads in all weather conditions and human congestions, the tour provider – Putu Bali Drivers, all were most helpful, lovely and thoughtful. You all kept us all safe, keeping a close eye on everyone and quick to assist anyone needing any assistance, adjusting the itinerary quickly to accommodate our curiosity and requests. Thank you for taking us to the local market and for the dadar gulung (green coconutty pancake) and mangosteens and all the tropical fruits, whose names I can no longer recall! Final words: Despite traveling in shoulder season, Bali is understandably very popular with tourists, crowd is unavoidable at any touristy spots. Love, respect and appreciate local culture, be willing to learn, listen, share and embrace. Bali is colourful, vibrant, bursting with culture and has much to share. Thank you for making this a very fun, memorable experience for us all. Wishing you all the best. Highly recommended to everyone who is seeking to visit Bali and looking for the best personalized budget friendly tour provider. Terima Kasi Banyak!Show moreTrip date: April 2024

- GCGeorge· January 5th, 2024After a great holiday experience in Bali with Putu Bali Driver, I can happily recommend them to anyone. I booked the 7-day Bali Highlight Tour via TourRadar and travelled during the busy period between Christmas and New Year’s. My airport transfer driver was Gede, who WhatsApped a picture of himself to me when I landed to help me find him among the large gaggle of drivers waiting for their passengers at the international arrivals exit. After a culturally eye-opening evening drive through the tiny, congested lanes of Kuta in a nice, clean, well-air-conditioned minivan, I arrived at my designated hotel, the 3-star Swiss-Belexpress Legian, at the end of a nondescript lane for a 2-night stay. It was conveniently located for the first few days of tour activities. On the second day, I was met by my awesome ‘Tour Director’ Asta. As I was traveling alone, Asta became more like a good mate than just a driver. He customized the daily schedule to better suit the day’s weather forecasts and what I wanted to experience first. He also went above and beyond, being my personal photographer, taking great happy snaps and short Insta videos of me at all the key tourist spots, and having a nice cold can of Coke ready for me at the start of each day. Most impressive were his driving skills. I always felt safe when he battled the crazy Bali traffic while always surrounded by the never-ending stream of scooters and bikes, which are like a swarm of bees around a honeypot. Other highlights included Asta managing to score me the coveted #1 draw position for photos at Lempuyang Temple, which started with a 3.00am pickup to get there before the crowds, and eating meals with local Balinese at some roadside warungs. Hope you like your food spicy! In Ubud, my 4-night stay was very comfortable at the Champlung Sari Hotel and Spa, located near the Monkey Forest, which was an ideal location for the remainder of my tour. All in all, it was a wonderful Bali holiday.Show moreTrip date: December 2023
- Alastair· October 7th, 2023Awesome and completely bespoke tour but was the same price as other group tours! Asta was a fantastic guide, very j knowledgeable and felt like we were always one step ahead of the crowds/looked after with local knowledge. Even helped with me being awkward and making last minute changes to the itinerary! All in all can't recommend enough, would definitely use again!Show moreTrip date: October 2023

- DHDilwara· January 5th, 2023Without a doubt one of the favourite trips in Bali. It was my first solotrip and I was q little afraid in the beginning. Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by Dede. My name was mentioned on the board and I felt welcomed with such a friendly atmosphere and nice and humble people. I had a fantastic start to my trip! The guide and tour was extremely good, very exciting and very flexible (appreciate this!) and for that Dede deserves a special thanks. He took care of me like a little baby . I had 9 great days there, which obviously also added to the experience. Dede is such a warm personality and highly motivated guide with a lot of knowledge and great communication skills (recommendable!) I truly enjoyed every moment. The scenery was beautiful and he took amazing pictures 😊it was very relaxing whilst also having mind blowing views. The water front bath at the end was a great way to end the tour. The atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me . All respect for Dede who does a great job there; a true example of an excellent tour guide! Many thanks again and I recommend Dede , Putu Bali Driver to everyone!Show moreTrip date: December 2022
