- Julianne· January 2nd, 2023There were only two of us (a couple - both experienced travellers - happy with basic accommodations). The plus side was that we had a private driver! The downside was that we were clearly an afterthought. Summary: Driver was good. Wadi Rum, Petra, and the Dead Sea are always magical places. You may have a much better experience than we did, especially in a group or a different time of year. Ask for names of accommodations and full itinerary before you depart. The choices for two out of three stops on this tour were a disaster and not selected with care. Bad reviews online, bad experience to match, clearly some incentive for the tour operator to bring tourists in. Petra: Look up reviews for Amra Palace Hotel. The tour organiser did call the hotel to try to help us with hot water after our own attempt with maintenance, but this hotel has serious problems and we had a predictably bad experience. It’s a run down hotel with a lot of problems and reviews make this very clear. No comparison to the example La Maison Petra in quality or location. Not a clean room, no hot water, and an unhygienic bad quality breakfast. (Staff member scooping up cereal to serve with bare hands. Moldy coffee machine.) Temperature controls in the room didn’t work. We were woken up several times by staff pounding on our door - ignoring do not disturb, thinking we were part of a departing bus tour, etc. We know that the tour operator can’t control these things, but they can control what hotel to book. Wadi Rum: This is a magical place and you will always have a good time. During the bad Petra hotel stay, I asked for the name of the camp we would stay in. The next morning, this changed and we were only notified because I asked to confirm the facilities at the camp. I believe this was an honest mistake, but the two camps were very different. The camp (“Caravan Camp”) that we stayed was very simple but had almost everything you could need. The family who runs it is lovely and we met some great people. The Bedouin tent was cosy and had many blankets, so we were nice and warm on a cold night. There was a shared bathroom that was large and clean. The included “jeep tour” was not really a perk. There was no communication about the timing of the tour. You ride in a truck bed and go to a few spots that are popular for photos. For us, these were all close together and rushed. There was no explanation. We were very lucky to have a knowledgeable woman in the truck who knew the area well. Next time, we would book our own guided tour. We stayed over New Years Eve. A large French tour group had a disco tent with loud music. The group had booked out most of the camp for their party. I’d keep in mind that not every camp is a quiet or meditative experience, especially if you are visiting over a holiday. We had fun, but would have preferred a more peaceful atmosphere. The dinner was top notch because of the large group though! Leaving the camp was difficult, since you need a lift from the camp to the visitor centre. Our driver had arranged with them. In the morning, we left very late, after some persistent questioning from me in English and Arabic. We were brought to a generic taxi parking lot instead of to our driver. Luckily he was able to help over the phone. Many people had similar issues trying to leave the camp. In the end, we would have had a smoother experience booking Wadi Rum on our own and we would have chosen a different camp, but we did have a nice time and we were happy there. Dead Sea: Look up O Beach Hotel and Resort Dead Sea reviews. Eat at a cold buffet. Get charged ridiculous fees for everything (towels, Dead Sea mud, locker key, etc.) - nothing is “free” here about your swimming. Dirty changing rooms with no basic amenities. You need to walk down many rusty, broken, dangerous stairs to the beach. Seriously, be careful - if you cut yourself on these stairs, you will need a tetanus shot. Lots of garbage and cigarette butts. Chairs are filthy and falling apart. There’s literally nowhere you can relax on the beach that isn’t filthy. The Dead Sea is magical, but this place was terrible. Avoid and buy a day pass for literally any other hotel with a private beach. It’s a shame this is where a tour would choose to bring visitors. I hope that our bad experience was unusual and unlucky. We do highly recommend the driver Jelal, who is kind and reliable.Show moreTrip date: December 2022

- CFCorina· October 19th, 2021Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishWe chose this 3-day tour, which was very complete! From the attention on the phone to hire it with Batool, their support was incredible. We had Jalal as our driver, who was always very helpful, attentive and friendly with us. The only thing is that he used his cell phone a lot while driving. That's the only but we would give him. The experience in the Bedouin camp in WADI RUM was great, the dinner there was very good. Everyone in the camp with an incredible attitude. And the 4 hours jeep tour... THE BEST!!!! Without leaving behind the camels at dawn to see the sunrise... 100% worth it. Swimming in the dead sea, a unique experience. The only thing about the place they took us ... very sloppy and the food cold. But you forget everything after seeing so much wonder. Of course if I come back I would hire them again... thank you Batool for everything and always being attentive to us. I do not put excellent because there are always things to improve!!! ????Show moreTrip500 commented on this reviewThank you so much for your kind words, we are very happy that you made some unforgettable memories and enjoyed Jordan at its most !!Trip date: October 2021
