- LPLinda· November 21st, 2021Not what we expected or paid for. We wanted a private guide for Morocco but we got a driver only. We expected to be provided with interesting information about the history and culture of Morocco but Abdul Anamar was nothing more than a driver from point A to point B. Another employee rode along the entire trip. We were mystified as to his function and were told, when we asked, that he was there only because business was slow. The two of them spoke Arabic pretty much incessantly for the entire drive each day. The only information we received was the name of the town where we were and the name of the mosque and which king built it. Anamar Abdul's English is limited so we had a hard time communicating with him. Most of the other Moroccans we met were pretty easy to communicate with. We had no say as to where and when to have lunch each day. Abdul Anamar insisted on certain cafes at certain times which were all very mediocre at best. We booked a "private" trip so that we could make our own decisions. That just did not happen. We had very good local guides in both Fez and Marrakesh. There was no guide provided in Casablanca or Rabat. Volubulis, Meknes and Ouzarzate were included on the itinerary but we had to pay our own entrance fees and pay our own guide. at each of those locations. The van was an older Mercedes and pretty beat up but reliable enough.Show more
