- OSOlga· July 3rd, 2024I was really looking forward to our family trip to Scotland. Unfortunately, Majestic Scotland tour by Costsaver was a total disappointment, it was basically a bus ride and hotels accommodations. There was very little comments about the places we passed on the way from tour director (who was also a guide everywhere except Edinburgh). Unfortunately, there was not even audio guide (that is listed in advertisement). I have a strong feeling that stops on the way were planed not by how interesting the place are but rather by availability of free bathrooms. Trip to Isle of Skye that I was really looking forward to was a joke - first we were on the road for several hours just to have lunch at the visitor center, 30 min bus ride on the isle at the places that have not looked spectacular in any way and returned to mainland by ferry. Totally not worse the hassle to be on the bus for 4-5 hours with barely any comments on the way. List of optional experiences was very poor, mainly very overpriced dinners in Glasgow and Edinburg. There was no schedule of when we will arrive at the particular place and how long we will have there, so that we could not plan our experiences ahead of time ourselves. It is a pity we could not enjoy such a beautiful place as Scotland to its full potential. Hotel in Edinburgh was far away from the center with literally only one restaurant in the walking distance.Show moreCostsaver commented on this reviewThank you for sharing your feedback about your recent experience with us. - BBarbaraMcDonnell· August 26th, 2021Our tour was just canceled for ‘operational reasons and lack of participation’. This was a confirmed tour so enough people already purchased the tour. I spent hours researching, coordinating with my family and attending to all the many details and then 6 weeks before the trip were notified our trip has been canceled. I booked the trip through Costco and believe both Costco and Costsaver should provide a comparable trip at their expense to compensate us for all of the disappointment and angst that their actions have caused. It is too late for us to book another trip at a comparable cost for the time frame that was so difficult to coordinate. Caution to all to use a more reputable company for your travel plans.Show moreCostsaver commented on this reviewWe truly regret to read that your recent trip to Scotland wasn't able to go ahead as planned. Unfortunately, as we are having to deal with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there are times when our trips may need to be suspended, in line with advice from... Show moreTrip date: August 2021
- LLynnJohnson· July 15th, 2021Have had this tour booked since 2019-it was cancelled in 2020 which I accepted due to the pandemic & I rescheduled for Sept 18, 2021. I got an email saying this tour was "suspended" due to restrictions & was very surprised as the United Kingdom is set to open up Monday July 19th. I am fully vaccinated & knew there might be a pre & post trip Covid test but no other restrictions. I learned on their website that they were advertising this trip for British citizens and in fact, today, they still are and indicate "call us" for the date advertised. They've been booked up for this date for many months. I have asked for a full refund as I don't wish to rebook a 2nd time or be treated like a 2nd class citizen.Show moreCostsaver commented on this reviewWe have acknowledged your feedback and would like to express our sincere regret that your trip to Scotland was suspended a second time due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. We absolutely understand the disappointment you must feel, as this was certainly... Show moreTrip date: July 2021
