- NIEL· October 9th, 2024Our Casablanca trip was fine. Dino was a good tourist guide and Mehdi was great driver. Very polite and always has a smile and would always assist us. Tangier was also a good experience for us. Mohammed, our driver who met us at the airport was very accommodating. I forgot though the name of our tour guide in Tangier Medina but he was also a good tour guide. It would have been nice though if we were brought to a restaurant that would give us options for the meals and not just give us the food without any choices. Our driver to Fez was nice, also named Mohammed. Our tour guide in Chefchaouen was by far the best one, again I forgot his name but I have his photo in my gallery. He explained things very well, and gave us freedom to choose and explore the Blue City by ourselves and also the restaurant we would want to eat. The driver who met us at Rabat train station was kind. The tour guides in Rabat were just ok. Zahir and Abdou were the ones who brought us from Rabat to Fez. Our tour guide in Fez was great and very knowledgable. Abdou was the best ever driver we had all throughout our trip beginning at Fez up until Marrakech where we said our goodbyes to him. Zahir was a good travel coordinator. He needs more conviction though and hoping that he would avoid taking tourists to Kasbahs which aren’t that significant and can be skipped along the way. The tour guide at Atlas Film Studios was great. He was very knowledgable. Our Saharan trip was magnificent and one for the books. Hassan, the young Camel guide was superb. Very polite and attentive to our needs and even taught us the basics of drummings. Excellent guide! Our Marrakech trip was quite uneventful only because the tour guide wasn’t that helpful and a bit arrogant especially when we didn’t buy anything from the shops he recommended. I would like to think that he wasn’t feeling well that day which explained his attitude. It was quite disappointing. Overall, Discover Morocco did great in arranging all the tours. It would have been nice had we been given some free time to explore some of the great cities Morocco boasts of, like Rabat, Tangier, and Marrakech. We hardly explored those three due to limited time. Thank you Tour Radar and Discover Morocco.Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- TSTim· October 9th, 2024This tour was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it without reservation to anybody wanting to have an overview of the main areas of Morocco. This tour is especially good because it went to a few places, such as Tangier and Rabat, that many of the other tours seem to skip. The communication with the operator, which is a complaint I saw about many other Morocco tours, was great both before and during the trip. They answered every question I had almost always within 24 hours. You should be aware that you'll have different guides in almost every city, but the positive thing about that is that if one of them is bad, you won't be stuck with them for the entire trip. Most of our guides were either good or great, although Noora in Marrakesh should be fired. She spent most of the time in the medina either talking on or looking at her phone and didn't pay attention to whether we were still with her, and she just left in the middle of the tour without taking us to several places that were on the itinerary. However, Noor in Fes, Eesham(?) in Rabat, Zouhair, who journeyed with us from Rabat to Marrakesh, and the local guide in Chefchaouen, whose name I forgot, were all fantastic. The tour guides will steer you to certain shops and restaurants that pay them to do so, which is annoying, but I think that will happen with any tour of Morocco, it's part of the culture. A few of them were late picking us up in the morning, but Discover Morocco quickly took care of it when we called them. All of the hotels were also surprisingly nice. I've seen some complaints about them in other reviews, but I think those are from people who don't accept that Morocco is a different place from London or Paris, and that this is a very affordable tour. If you expect to stay in the Four Seasons, you should be willing to spend more money. While some of them had minor water stains and cracks in the walls, etc., all of the hotels exceeded my expectations when considering the cost of this tour. They also seemed to be almost exclusively booked up with other tour groups, so the odds are that other tours would also put you in the same places. The Red Hotel in Marrakesh was especially nice, and a nice place to finish up the tour in. This was a great tour and I was very happy that I visited Morocco and that I chose the Discover Morocco tour.Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- WTWilma· September 27th, 2024Overall good trip, train trips were booked in advance and guides were picking us up. On the first day, day of arrival our plane was delayed by several hours. We missed the tour in Casablanca which was due to the delays. On arrival at the airport, after going through customs, which took a long time, we contacted the operator. No clear instructions were given. So we waited for more than an hour before contacting them again and we were told to take a taxi, since there was nobody available to pick us up. That in itself is not an issue. It we could have been told that from the start. We were not able to get a taxi straight away since we were not told which hotel we had to go to. Clearer and more efficient communication would not go amiss. The most annoying event of the whole trip was the encounter with the tour guide in Casablanca. He came to visit us in the evening and basically demanded we meet him. The whole purpose of the visit is still lost on me. He was not listening to our concerns such as improving communication from the company and advising us straight away to get a taxi and the hotel we were staying at. We had absolutely nothing to do with him since we missed the trip but had to listen to his waffle and non sensical comments. To get rid of him we obliged to have our photo taken with him to get rid of him. The most entitled and useless man ever.Show moreDiscover Morocco commented on this reviewThank you for sharing your feedback. - RPRachel· September 26th, 2024There were parts of the tour that were excellent but some were not. We often did not do what was expressed to be in the tour and this was frustrating. Some of the tour guides seemed to choose what they wanted to show us. - ESEdward· September 18th, 2024Tour was good and I enjoyed my experience in Morocco. The whole operation was smooth and you were told beforehand when to be ready for the next day. The size of the tour group can change from day to day. All the guides were knowledgeable and the drivers are good too. Guide Dino and driver Medhi from Casablanca were great. The guide Said from Fes was good as well. Zouhair and Mustafa were great too. The hotel choices ranged from really bad to really good, for the most part they are good. I particularly liked the hotel in Rabat, and the Kasbah stay. Pros: Restaurant choices were very good, driver/guides made sure to keep everyone safe, plenty of pit stops, and there was a lot of police presence everywhere. Probably 5+ police checkpoints between every city. They seemed more interested in policing the locals than the tourists. Plenty of shopping opportunities. Cons: The hotel in Casablanca was the 2nd worst hotel I have ever been to. I would have been so mad if I had to stay 2 nights in that hotel. Bad wifi, bad A/C, dirty/sticky floor, terrible body odor smells on the pillow/cushions. The guide in Marrakesh could have been better, he did not show us the Jardin secret or Menara gardens which was on the itinerary. Hercules Caves is a tourist trap. Highlights were the Mosque in Casablanca, Chefchaouen, Fes, Volubilis, Todra Gorge, Desert Camp, and Atlas Studio.Show moreDiscover Morocco commented on this reviewThank you for your thoughtful review!
