- Anonymous· February 1st, 2020This was my first time traveling abroad on my own and I am really happy I chose Europamundo since planning everything on my own would have been way too stressful (also I don't think I would have gotten to see half of the things we did on the tour if I planned it on my own!). The best thing about the tour, straight up, were the tour guides. They were so nice and lovely and really looked out for me since I was one of the youngest travelers on the tour. I had Marcia until Zurich and then Emmanuele from there, both of whom were the sweetest people ever and had so much knowledge to share. We also had a few local guides and I'm so sad I can't remember the name of our guide in Rome and Prague but they were absolutely amazing. I enjoyed all of the places we went to (except Milan but that's not the tour's fault it was so horribly overcrowded even during off-season) and although we had only a few hours of free time (around 2-3) in each town, I thought that was fine since we went to all of the most popular tourist attractions with the guide and then had a few hours on our own after that just to shop, eat and relax. The best hotel in terms of luxury was in Milan (IH MILANO LORENTEGGIO)--we had two double beds, a huge room and everything was really lovely. But my favourite hotel was the Alphotel in Innsbruck because it felt so comfortable and had such an amazing view of the snowy mountains. The worst hotel was in Prague (WELLNESS HOTEL STEP)--it was extremely, extremely small and the reception was not at all prepared for us, taking almost an hour to get everybody into rooms. Poor Marcia had everything arranged for us (she had a huge foldr full of what was booked for us) and the hotel was scrambling to get us the rooms we booked. They were also very rude and while the hotel's breakfast was tasty, it was poorly managed -- it took me 20 minutes just to get a teaspoon since none of the staff was setting the tables. One of the worst experiences on the trip was catching the train from Austria to Switzerland. It was so rushed and we took 4 trains. Not completely the tour's fault since in winter, the direct train only runs at very strange hours. However, since this tour usually has older customers, it probably would have been better to rent a van (although it would have taken longer, I felt very bad for the other travelers who was struggling through the rush). Other than that one hotel and one train ride, I really enjoyed this tour. What I especially loved was all the special priviledges we got through our tour guides, like skipping lines, getting first preference, and getting deals in restuarants.Show moreEuropamundo commented on this reviewHi Customer We want to thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience with us. - EVEvelyn· July 17th, 2019Schedule could be managed better. There were times we had 45 minute break at a gas station & then an hour in total for dinner in Zurich ( < ——for example). In addition, I’m not sure why the Hispanic community gets meals included except everybody else. I don’t recall being given an option. Our guide Encarni was wonderful! She was full of positive energy, interesting to listen to & very caring for everyone’s needs. I wish we could have had her the entire time while traveling with Europamundo.Show moreEuropamundo commented on this reviewHi Evelyn Vuilleumier, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences online. - JLJung Yu· July 10th, 2019Was disappointed on the time given by the stops at Munich and Zurich (night). - Jennifer· June 27th, 2019HOTELS: Berlin - Moxy was wonderful. Innsbruck - Harry's House was awful. The air conditioning did not work. The front desk staff stated that the A/C was broken and was not going to be repaired for a couple of days. They suggested that we open the window for cool air. Problem was we were direct across the street from an intermodal. Semi trucks coming and going all night. Breakfast was less than basic and not enough was being stocked for the large tour groups Zurich - Harry's House ...still not adequate A/C. The front desk stated that the system would keep the temperature at 4 degrees below outside temp. Wasnt true. We had to sleep with the window open again. This time we were in front of the rail stop. Prague - Clarion Congress Hotel. The first night we had no A/C. It was legitimately broke. After a few calls to the front desk who told us there was nothing to be done. She argued with us that nothing was wrong. We had to sleep on the floor of our teenager's hotel room. In the morning we asked to be moved to another room which they did however when we went back to our original rooms to change belongings the repairman was there and fixed it in a matter of minutes. Rome - Shangrlia - The best. Great service, gold A/C, good breakfast. TOUR GUIDES: We loved Julio, Irene, and Gabby. We only spent the day with Angeleez in Rome. The local Rome tour guide was awful. She was short with tourists and rude. She did not speak well to the group and rushed thru everything. DRIVERS: Thomas and David were great. In Rome, Pepe left us at St Peters Basilica. We had to walk thru a crowded bus terminal and up the street to find him. We had a full bus and he would not open the back door so we had to stand outside in the heat. On the last night (after a very long and hot day) he did not pull into the hotel because he missed the entrance. Instead, he pulled to the corner and made us walk up the drive. ITENERARY: Berlin - more time should have been allocated to see the Holocaust Museum. Grindewald - fabulous! Zurich/Lucerne - more time should have been allocated to walk around Prague - fabulous! Innsbruck - suggestion to have the Swarovski museum as an alternate package and replace with Nordkette trip TRANSPORTATION: I highly suggest replacing travel by bus with travel by train between Zurich and Milan/Rome.Show moreEuropamundo commented on this reviewHello Jennifer Pryor Young We want to thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience with us.
