- DRDANIELLA· October 26th, 2024I made it to the roof of Africa with Great Lake Expedition via the 6-day Marangu Route, and I can't recommend them enough. Safety was a top priority, which gave me the confidence to complete the trek. Head guide Muntari was absolutely fantastic and very knowledgeable, and the whole team of support crew were incredible. The porters are actual superheroes and made our stay on the mountain as comfortable as possible. We were also extremely well fed. Followed it up with a 3-day safari in Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire NP - all fantastic, our safari guide Robert was full of information and also very funny. Highly recommend Great Lake Expedition if you're visiting northern Tanzania.Show more

It takes an incredible amount of work to make this as successful as it can be, and the team always knew what we needed. The food was great, we rented some supplies, and they were of very good quality. The staff at the salinero hotel were very accommodating.
