Jared· April 3rd, 2023The guide and driver were both really excellent and I would give their performance 5/5 stars without a doubt! This review does NOT reflect negatively on their performance and if anything, I commend them even more for making the experience as good as they possibly could. The tour itinerary itself was frustratingly organized. There were a lot of long days in the car, when it would have made more sense to take an overnight bus or train. Because of the timing of the driving, we frequently ended up doing outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day instead of the morning or evening, and the heat is no joke. One night there was a shared accommodation in the houseboat that I think was not advertised very clearly in the listing as part of the tour. I did not appreciate having to share a hostel dorm room with others on the tour, especially on a rocking boat. The guide did a great job of working within the itinerary to make things as enjoyable and comfortable as possible, but the itinerary itself just didn't make a lot of sense and made me feel like I wasted a lot of time an experienced a lot of unnecessary discomfort.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Jared, Thank you for sending through this helpful feedback. You spend most of the first half of the trip in a car, with very little time to actually sightsee and visit the cities and towns you are in. I would have much preferred to travel by overnight trains or busses, as so much time was wasted during the day traveling (one day was 7 hours in the car).
