We just came back from this unforgettable Camino walk from Bilbao to Santiago de Compostela. ACTIVE ADVENTURE, the subgroup that took us on this journey with David Gomez and Elize as our guides, was great in every way. First of all David and Elize were very knowledgeable, experienced hikers, very carrying, always there for the group and very well organized, on time always. They were carrying water, snacks, fruits for the group every day. We were a group of 8 people, 6 single woman and a couple. The most wonderful people that we spent 9 days together. The hotels were excellent and different in every town that made our experience more interesting, as we're staying in old, traditional or modern hotels, private hotels made in an old Fort place with gardens, views, or in a monastery.... The food was amazing, too. Everywhere there was breakfast, lunch with 3 courses, at least, and the dinners were exceptional. We had 7 of 9 nights dinner, but this way we could explore on our own. The Active Adventure organized a special tour-guides in different towns, to enter and see special Cathedrals, on our way. Entering Santiago de Compostela was overwellmingly emotional, unforgettable moment on our journey. The Cathedral there is magnificent, beautiful, majestic, built 700 years ago.......... The last day they took us to Finisterre, "The End of the Earth" where we drove part of the way and then climbed the peninsula. Breathtakingly beautiful! This was our last day and we had our last dinner at a great restaurant Curro da Parra! After dinner David had a surprise for all of us, a Troubadour performance on the Plaza, in front of the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. Everybody sung with them and danced... Oh, what a moment, indeed.... It was hard to say good bye....... I can't thank enough David and Elize for making our walk and experience on Camino that special and unforgettable....forever........ BUEN CAMINO
