Oskar· September 18th, 2024We did Canadian Contrasts Tour (East&West) in August 2024. From the begining we were aware of the fact that the programme was going to be intense and would include a lot of driving, especially in the East due to large distances. As soon as we arrived, we found out that we are going ti be one of three buses, 50 persons each, going on the same route, as 50 people on the bus wasn`t crowded enough! The hotels we were staying in were comfortable, mostly in the city centre, one time (in Quebec) we were totally in the outskirts with no restaurant in the area to have dinner, that was some wrong choice from the operator's side. However, the breakfasts included...poor to put it mildly. And it wasn not on the hotels, all three groups usually had separate conference rooms booked for breakfasts with basic toast, peanut butter and ONE muffin/person, forget waffles with maple syrup which you might expect while visiting in Canada. On top of that our tour director in the East (Marylin) seemed to be completely overwhelmed with all the tasks of tour director, eventually leading to some of the traveller`s luggage being left behind at the hotel, which we realised after travelling 400km... About the itinerary: a lot of driving (sometimes 8hours/day on the bus), in some spots we had too little time to enjoy the beauty of the place (Niagara Falls), such a shame! The eastern part of the tour was just BAD. Luckily enough, after a week in the East, another tour director (Tina) joined us for the Western part, that was a game changer! Tina was absolutely wonderful, perfectly organized, always having an anwser to a question, briefing on the schedule for the following day, having everyone's problems under control. Thank you Tina for saving our holidays! All in all, Canada is a great destination to travel and has been on our bucket list for a long time.
