- Adam· February 24th, 2023Mo is the best tour guide for Egypt! He is passionate and very knowledgeable on the history and culture of Egypt, communicates well with everyone in the tour group, professional, very organized, cares about our safety and security, and is helpful in providing do’s and don’t’s to foreign tourists unfamiliar to the customs and culture of Egypt. If I ever go back to Egypt, Mo is the person I want again to show me around! He is a 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend Mo to others!Show moreTrip date: February 2023

- linda· February 29th, 2020What I expected , the places I've been dreaming to go when I learned in world History 4th year High school. What amazing and awe to see. The young tour members are very nice friendly and a lot of them become my friends. I'm glad travel talk tours get me an exception but really this tour is for everyone dont discriminate on age maybe up to 70 without arthritis could go. Guides and drivers very friendly and very safe to go we have Police escort all around Egypt lots of check points but good in a sense for security.Show moreTrip date: February 2020

- AKAmna· January 22nd, 2019TourRadar was an excellent booking service with transparent itineraries and a communicative booking and payment process. I will definitely use TR again! The “Egypt and Jordan by Land” tour was not only the first tour I have gone on with Travel Talk, but the first tour experience I have ever had. Overall, it was a great opportunity to meet some fantastic people and see a lot of Egypt’s sights in a short period of time. Our Egypt tour guide, Mostafa, kept a tight rein on timelines and ensured that everything was running smoothly (especially with individual situations such as delayed flights or lost luggage), which left the tour group participants able to relax and enjoy the trip. That being said, there are some things that are essential to note if you are planning to take this tour: first and foremost, it is a lot of time on the bus, which leaves almost no free time at any site or market. Being able to take in the temples and villages and cities of Egypt at leisure, or do any souvenir shopping, is absolutely not on the table here. The tour does schedule in some visits to specific vendors for perfume, cartouches, papyrus, and alabaster - however, I personally dislike being brought to specific vendors (or be aggressively sold on certain activities) and prefer having the choice of a larger market to peruse. Same note for food (don’t expect much), where it could be better to find your own. Also note that the group combines several variations of the tour, so at different points people in our group split off or rejoined. This may be the reason that the path loops from Cairo down to Luxor and back to Cairo before going to Dahab - which is my biggest point of contention, as it’s an enormous amount of time spent doubling back that would be much more efficiently spent going one way and then flying to Dahab. Most hotels were okay, clean enough if usually noisy due to courtyard entertainment and bad insulation; however, The Oasis hotel in Giza should be replaced entirely on this tour as I found it lacking in the cleaning department (hair on the pillow, re-used and packaged soap, etc). One specific note for the tour organisers: at the Nubian village dinner, the host brought out a baby alligator for tourists to hold and take photographs with. I understand this isn’t illegal, but do believe it pulls unwilling participants into an unethical activity that is harmful for Egypt’s native wildlife. We skipped Kom Ombo temple entirely, and the reason was never told - some of us do feel shafted as this activity is in the original itinerary that we signed up for. I also had to pay for an experience I was unable to attend (Bedouin dinner) when a previously scheduled diving activity ran significantly over time and the tour organisers did nothing to make sure we could attend or provide a refund. Some tips for travellers in Egypt: make sure to keep toilet paper on hand at all times, and do tip the toilet attendants as this is their income; the hot air balloon ride is extremely worthwhile; the light show at the pyramids is a very expensive waste of money. Expect indoor smoking absolutely everywhere (and please don’t participate, it’s super gross). No one from our group opted to take donkeys at Abu Simbel, for care of the animals’ well-being, and honestly it’s a very short walk that really does not require a donkey ride anyway. The Jordan leg of this tour was very different - Wadi Rum was an amazing highlight, but it would have been nice to be able to get there before night and actually enjoy an evening watching the sunset. Wear goggles and water shoes in the Dead Sea, no matter how silly you think you look - trust me. The rocks are very sharp and the current is dangerously strong. One day of this tour was entirely useless - spent almost entirely on the bus with a short stop at Kerak castle, which was largely uninteresting. Both Cairo and Aswan had the worst “city tours” I have ever been on, neither of which were actual tours so much as 2 quick sightseeing stops in the city. To be honest, I didn’t particularly feel that the tour guide was terribly dedicated to this tour and often left us to do things ourselves. After the Jordan tour ended, I went to the city and ruins of Jerash, which ended up being my overall highlight of the country visit - I would recommend including this in the tour, but again honestly it would be disappointing to be rushed through the beautiful ruins. Overall the Jordan leg felt highly disorganised and sparse on the activity front. One last note to Travel Talk: it would be much better if your tour cost included local payment and activity costs - it’s never fun to spend half your time on the tour scrambling for cash or ultimately feeling like you are paying much more than you signed up for, even when you know it’s coming. My experience with Travel Talk was only okay, and I strongly feel the company needs to tighten up on the organisation and communication fronts. That being said, everyone in my group that I spoke to reflected on a very positive experience, so this review is not written as discouragement but to ensure that some of the less positive but essential notes usually left out of reviews are given some limelight.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi Amna , thank you for your review, we value all our customer’s feedback to deliver the best service to our passengers as possible.
