- Jacques· June 5th, 20249 day tour of Puglia is really 7 days because 2 days involve travel. We would have been happy to skip the last 3 days. We visited one estate that had an excellent lunch. It also had its own wine which was excellent. We believe there should be some winery visits. We didn't like the experience of sharing part of the tour with South Americans.Show moreTrip date: May 2024
- Rosemary· October 1st, 2023This tour was by far the worst tour I have ever been on 1. They have to deliver what they offer 2. The tour company should have a back up 3. It is no use dropping us at a destination and being told that we will be picked up in three hours. We were never given a map of the city or highlights. 4. Our “English” speaking guide, spoke very little English and was not aware of the itinerary or the pints of interest on the itinerary. 5. The hotels are too far out of the towns. I think the towns offer more at night but if you are not familiar with the areas, you unsure about where to go. 6. Some compensation should be made to the travellers on this tour and/or you should take it off your list. It was not a cheap tour and we definitely did not get the level of experience that.we were entitled to. Rosemary Barbetta For Fausto, Sandra and EvelynShow moreTrip date: September 2023
- JGJames· June 9th, 2023The destinations and hotel accomodations were excellent. We did this trip during the late May and early June timeframe. Our tour was promoted as a 14 person max tour which was not exactly true. There were 2 groups of people split by English Speaking and Spanish Speaking. There were 2 seperate groups but touring the same places, hotels and restuarants. More people then to deal with and figure out logistics and wait time. Overall fairly smooth but room for improvement by decreasing wait time staying on schedule. The tour left a little late each morning so we had less time to see the sights and our free time to explore on our own. Our guides English comprehension was limited and difficult to understand the English with her heavy Italy accent. The tour would be much better just having a group of 20 or less and a better guide that could explain the sights better.Show moreTrip date: May 2023
- PSPhilip· May 23rd, 2023Overall maybe worthy of a higher rating because the good things were so good. Firstly some positives - the itinerary of the tour was great and area is beautifully different to other areas we’ve visited in Italy. We particularly enjoyed Matera, Castel Del Monte, Polignano and Monopoli. The tour provided excellent insight into the region and Angela, our tour guide, was knowledgeable about its history and customs. On a few occasions we received an almost private tour when other members of the group decided not to participate. The hotels in Bari and Lecce were of a high standard and were very comfortable. The minibus was comfortable and plenty big enough for our tour and luggage. Overall probably worthy of 3.5 The organization of the tour was confusing. We booked with Click Tours and received an itinerary from them which importantly included a 2 night stay in a trulli, the unique domed stone huts of the Puglia region, found nowhere else in the world. A huge reason we booked the Click Tour was for this once in a lifetime experience which was to be a highlight of the trip. Upon arrival in Bari, we found our small English speaking group combined with a larger Spanish group. We were given a new itinerary showing the tour operator as Carrani Tours with no mention of the trulli stay. No explanation was given and the tour guide knew nothing about an accommodation change. We believe that the combining of the groups led to the Click Tour group losing the opportunity to stay in the trulli. To add insult to injury, we were booked instead into a hotel economy room smelling of smoke and air freshener. Our guide tried to intervene but changing to another (equally smelly) room for the second night just wasn’t worth the effort since we’d managed to air out the first one. It’s worth mentioning that even if a hotel is rated as 4-star not all rooms are created equal and some rooms we, and others in our group, found to be very basic indeed. The tour included several evening meals provided by the hotels. The menus were set with no choices offered. Dinner was almost always seafood (sometimes for multiple courses). Again Angela was able to intercede and get alternate dishes but the lack of choice was disappointing. Finally, be aware of the Bari airport transfer offered by Click Tours for $60. We later found that the Hotel Nikolaus (the tour’s chosen hotel for the tour) offers an airport shuttle at no charge. Additionally, the standard taxi fare was $25. Caveat Emptor indeed.Show moreTrip date: May 2023
- SOSusan· May 18th, 2023First, I must say I cannot evaluate a Click Tour because without any notification or explanation our tour was transferred to another tour company! To make matters worse our tour guide was totally unaware of this happening.. The tour was supposed to be a 9 day small group tour(not more than 12 people) of Apulia, Italy. When we arrived, we discovered our small group would be traveling in tandem with a much larger Spanish speaking group. Although we had our own tour director and bus, it became evident that our small group was placed into a larger group. The small group accommodations were altered to accomodatelarger group because we all stayed in the same hotels and ate our meals togetherShow moreTrip date: May 2023
