The tour was fairly fast paced, which may not suit some travellers, but we covered a lot of scenic and interesting places that showcased the diversity of the US landscape. Our tour manager Dominique was expert at her job and everything ran smoothly. Our lovely driver Carlos is an expert behind the wheel. He kept us safe and has a great sense of humour. One thing we noted on this tour was that we had many opportunities to pick up food from grocery stores along the way which helped keep the budget in check but of course there was equal opportunity to dine in restaurants or fast food outlets. The okay rating is only due to the fantastic itinerary. The tour guide including group support was a disaster. Only when things don't run normally do you realize how good a tour guide is. We had several cases of illness who were given a mask and then left to fend for themselves with a high fever. Something like that doesn't work !!!!! The group was also far too large, and if there are only families and couples on board, you simply can't accept single travelers like me. This must be taken into account when accepting bookings. In addition, the tour guide spoke IMMEDIATELY, first in English, then everything again in Dutch. There was hardly any time to relax on the bus, to reflect on our impressions etc. After a week, most of us switched off, which was very exhausting. Travelled 2954 miles in 13 days and saw San Diego,LA,Vegas and San Francisco as well as Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon and Yosemite to name but a few.
