- HOHannah· July 22nd, 2023We travel frequently, and this is by far the most memorable and distinctive trip we've ever taken. We were able to see sections of Morocco with Trek Desert Maroc that we would not have seen if we had booked the trip independently and only visited the larger cities. We spent a lot of time traveling between destinations during our two weeks, but our driver Karim was a terrific guide and travel companion. Don't let the distance between stops discourage you—the journeys themselves were lovely. One of our favorite days was spent with Ali at his home in the Valley of Roses; not only did we assist in the preparation of absolutely delectable food (we're still debating how to make the berber pizza at home! ), but we also had the opportunity to explore his property and gain a better understanding of Moroccan society. It was great joy to jam with Ali, who is also a guitarist, and hear some Berber music. Another memorable experience was driving a 4x4 over the Saharan dunes with Karim and the native driver-A very enjoyable day that included a stop by a neighborhood nomad family for tea and soccer! We're grateful to Khalil for organizing everything and to Karim for being a fantastic guide and showing us the "real" Morocco outside of the cities and giving us an incredible two weeks to get to know him and his country. Overall, the best parts of the trip were the ones experienced off the beaten path and with incredibly friendly locals.Show more
