  Stewart is an amazing tour guide. Brought the group together in the beginning and was very profession in everything he did. He's knowledge on everything Scottish was amazing and you could ask him anything and he would usually know the answer. 10/10

  Neil was an excellent guide throughout the trip, honestly some of my favorite parts was listening to him tell us Scottish Folktales. It just felt like I was in the stories, as Neil described what unfolded we were actually around the places where these things happened. He just cares so much about his country and he brings his passion for it to every aspect of the tour. My other favorite moment was when we all jumped into Loch Ness, Neil looked at us like we were crazy but he found us a spot where it would be easy to swim. Honestly, simultaneously the coldest and best swim I've ever had. This trip was just such an adventure, and I would definitely recommend to anyone who wanted to see AND experience Scotland.

  Epic Highland Adventure with MacBackpackers Just got back from a backpacking tour with MacBackpackers through the Highlands and Isle of Skye, and it was incredible! The guides were super knowledgeable and chill, making the whole trip fun and laid-back. The scenery was out of this world—think misty mountains, crystal-clear lochs, and stunning peaks. The hikes were challenging but manageable, and the group vibe was awesome. Neil (our guide/driver/new best friend) made the drive unforgettable by sharing his playlist with us. The stunning landscapes and the lore he added gave the the magical context and background for these amazing locations. Ive never felt like ive been closer to heaven or magic. If you’re looking for adventure, good vibes, and unreal landscapes, this tour is a must. Can’t wait to do it again!

  This was an amazing way to fit so much into a few days. Our tour guide Neil was very personable and entertaining, and very clearly enjoyed answering all of our questions. He described this as a "first date" with the Scottish Highlands, meaning you get a little taste of a large handful of areas and you can use that experience to decide which areas you want to get to know better. I especially enjoyed all of the folklore he included in the tour, and my favorite stop we made was the Old Man of Storr hike. It was moderately difficult, and extremely worth it-- literally the best views I've ever seen. The Macbackpackers hostel that we stayed at was very nice, too, with a really nice hang out space and a kitchen with enough tools for the weekend. I learned a lot on this trip about the history of certain battles and castles, some really interesting folklore surrounding the landscape, and had an incredible time seeing everything. It felt like every time we rounded another corner, there was another view even better than the last one. I would definitely do another one of their tours, and I would highly recommend this as a way to explore the Highlands!

  I went on the 3 day Isle of Skye Trip with our tour guide Neil. He was an amazing tour guide with great experience and knowledge about the highlands of Scotland. He told us about the different train, history, animals, geology, and more on this trip opening our eyes to the beauties of Scotland. We even learned about his Scottish ancestry and he shared the nuanced and rich history of his people. This was an incredibly exciting and inspiring trip as someone from New York who has never seen much of nature like this. I would definitely recommend for anyone whether it be couples solo travelers or more to experience this amazing getaway. The people I met on this trip were also amazing people from all over the world. We went out to the local pub together and explored sight seeing stops together in awe. I would say as a side note for those booking, the full price ticket you order online does not include accommodation. So you would have to pay the additional accommodation fee when you arrive at the hostel to begin your trip IF you want your accommodation already included which was about an additional £80. As far as the accommodation, it was really great with great hosts and a clean space. The beds were surprisingly comfy and there was an outlet/plug near the bed with a reading light as well as blankets and pillows provided. A heater is in the rooms which worked perfect and there is a kitchen in the hostel to use during certain hours. In all, highly recommend this trip for anyone curious to learn more about Scotlands amazing history and see beautiful sites in nature.

  Stewart was completely excellent on our 3-Day Skye Tour. His storytelling was captivating (complemented by a great playlist) and his knowledge of history and culture exceeded expectations. We asked many questions on tangential subjects and he always had an informed and detailed answer. He is a true Scot, which made the experience authentic as we toured famous historical locations through the highlands and Skye. I was particularly grateful that he had the forethought to put me in my own room as the only woman on my tour– it made me feel very looked after and went beyond the basic duties of a tour guide. I would 100% recommend Stewart as a tour guide, and recommend the tour itself as a way to experience the highlands and Skye in a short period of time.

  Neil is simply the best tour guide and storyteller I have come across. The bus ride to the Isle of Skye wasn't precieved to be so engrossing ✨, the conviction by which Neil narrates his legends and stories are just unmatched the. Guy has some Aura. My personal favourite from his taste of countryusic will be Rachel Walker. His stories about the Kelpies, Nessie, The Jacobites and the Giants will surely grab your attention and make you wonder are they actually true. Thank you Neil for for being an Absolute legend hoping to see you soon low-key sad to part ways after three days of non stop fun and storytelling!!! You are a freaking legend get into public speaking!!!! ????
