- Day 1 Join trip in Kota Kinabalu, the capital of the Sabah region of Borneo
- Day 2 Explore the city's Great Mosque and markets. Optional afternoon visit to Mari Mari village
- Day 3 Drive into Kinabalu National Park, lunch with the Dusan tribe in the shadow of Mount Kinabalu
- Day 4 Visit Poring Hot Springs and a Rafflesia reserve. Drive onto Sepilok
- Day 5 Visit Sun Bears conservations centre and witness a feeding at Sepilok Orang-utan Sanctuary. Onto Sukau for a jungle night walk
- Day 6 Cruise along the Kinabatangan River searching for wildlife on its banks
- Day 7 Drive onto the Wildlife Reserve of Tabin; Afternoon nature walk to the Lipad Mud Volcano

We also saw proboscis monkeys, macaques and a gibbon in the wild as well as a range of birds and other mammals. The Sun Bear rescue centre was a good addition. The palm oil production was also very interesting given it is a useful product if done right and the need for balance with nature. While we didn't get to see orangutans in the wild, we saw pigmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, gibbons, macaques, red giant flying squirrel, different types of kingfishers, and other rare wildlife. Tried different fruits, some great, others, not so much. The rainforests were... rainy, no disappointment there. Hazli, our tour leader was great, answered all the questions and provided opportunities to see and experience the culture of Borneo. Would like to return!Show moreTrip date: September 2023
