- AAnneM· October 1st, 2019Intrepid are not disabiled friendly. I travelled with my husband who is blind and his friend who is partially blind. I was sick one night and asked the Tour Guide to leave my husband and friend with the rest of the group at a Restuarant along with the others. This was perfectly fine and my travel companions didn't ask for anything more than anyone else in the group, eg, translating menus, walking back to the Hotel with the Group Leader. I got a call from the Europe, Russia and Iceland Operations Manager, who has nearly 50 counties to look after, to be told that my husband is wonderful to travel with but I have to be with him at all times. The harrassment from the Ops Manager became more frequent. Our partially blind friend and I kept getting messages from the Tour Guide, Hotel Receptionists and messages under our Hotel door to drop everything during our holiday and call him about meaningless things that the Group Leader or the Hotel could've handled. At one point our friend was asked to call him to tell the Ops Manager if he was ok. I then found I was accussed of things I didn't do like hitting Hotel staff and throwing laundry around in the Hotel Reception area. I did not such thing and told the Ops Managr to check the survellence and he'll find I'm correct. Intrepid went quiet about the survellence and either wouldn't answer my question or changed the subject. I was asked to leave the Tour Group without any warning that this would happen, and in th last episode about these false accussations about hitting people, the Ops Manager took me off the Tour without getting my side of the story. Intrpeid would not let my husband stay with his friend so I had to take my husband with me. Intrepid ended up refunding the usused portion of the trip for my husband and I. Ask yourself, if someone was tearing down your place, would you give them a refund? I swear to my grandmother's grave that I didn't hit anybody or throw laundry around.
