- Sandra· July 9th, 2024I had read positive reviews about Odynovo so I decided to give them a try for our Southeast Asia trip. I was assigned to Ander Zou and he delivered exceptional service from start to end. Ander was patient in working with me to formulate an itinerary that fits our needs, interests and time constraints. He built in experiences (elephant encounters, ceramics class) that really suit our family, and our kids' areas of interest. He answered my numerous questions on logistics, visa, flight times, and costs. We lived in different parts of the world but I know I would always hear a response from him during his next business day. At all times, I knew our trip is in good hands and that there was someone supporting me! Even as Ander's wedding approached, he was still helping me with last minute questions and trip details. When I asked for last minute assigned seats (I believe he might have been on his honeymoon then, or almost), he very quickly helped make the arrangements. When I complained about one particular hotel during the trip, Ander immediately pulled the local team in to try to mitigate. I really could not ask for better service in Ander and I plan to work with him again in a future trip! Now I'll dive into the Odynovo partners (guides/drivers) we worked with in each of the countries. Thailand -- We had Pat as our guide and he was kind, funny, and the best picture-taker! We enjoyed our time with him. He was a little tough to understand than other guides, but overall, it was fine! The driver always had cold towels and a cold drinks (with a full tray of snacks) ready for us, with AC blasting! This was the only team that offered snacks. We weren't hungry. most of the time but we really appreciated the gesture. The restaurants picked for our lunches were incredible -- AC blasting, roomy, and delicious! Cambodia - We had Chea Nin as our guide and he was paired with a wonderful driver who always go out of the seat to open the door for us and close the door for us. The driver also always had a cold towel, cold drink and AC blasting when we returned each time, and boy, was that necessary in Cambodia!! Chea Nin was a PRO. He was like a historian who knew all the facts, history, anecdotes about each site. His English was excellent and because of that, we learned a huge deal from him while in Cambodia. The few days with him were stellar -- he made last minute arrangements for us based on our interests and really made sure we enjoyed our time in his country. I highly recommend Nin. Vietnam (Part 1) - We had two different guides in Vietnam. For Danang, and Hoi An, we had the funny and affable Daniel! We've never had a young guide like Daniel in any countries but we are so glad we did!! He was full of personality, in a great way, and we all bonded with him in a deeper way than we normally do with guides. Daniel really knew how to take care of guests -- my boys loved peach ice tea, and he surprises them with peach ice team packages the next day. We had our 20th anniversary, and Daniel surprised us with a cake and gorgeous flowers. Daniel was also willing to be flexible to what we preferred -- he can read our minds like a good host can. He sent ban mi to us from this place we were talking about (featured in the late Anthony Bourdain's show) and he just went above and beyond to ensure we were happy, comfortable, and entertained! He is young but also knowledgeable. He showed us his favorite cafe by the rice paddies, and it was a gem. He knew exactly where to take us when we wanted to purchase custom suits. We were able to chat with him about not just the destinations but about life in Vietnam in general. Daniel's English was good and he's also learning Mandarin! We were very happy to be matched with Daniel and I'd highly recommend him to any friend!! Vietnam (Part 2) - Our 2nd guide for the last part of the trip was Tuan. Tuan is a professional tour guide, you can tell from his many years of experience and his museum curation-like anecdotes! We learned a great amount of Tuan about the Vietnam War, the colonization, the 'Hanoi Hilton' history, Ho Chi Minh history, etc. Tuan's English was excellent and you can just tell that this is his profession and he does it with pride. The car in Hanoi was a little older but it was clean. I enjoyed our visit very much and felt we were in great hands with Tuan. Odynovo has proven themselves to be a very high-quality travel consultancy and I have no doubt that I'd use them again for a future trip.Show moreOdynovo commented on this reviewDear Sandra Lo, Thank you for choosing Odynovo as your tour operator and for recognizing Ander Zou, the guide Pat, Chea Nin, Daniel, and Tuan!
