  Everything was good or excellent. except that Vienna was devoted too short a time, and a tour Prague Castle Compound included a walking portion that, in my opinion was not entirely appropriate for some old age fellows.

  Our guide was nice but did not have the exuberance that I expected. I think he needed to be more out going and friendly.

  We were looked after very well. It was unfortunate, we had mechanical problem. Tony over came the problem by organising coaches and taking us out on excursions as best as possible. In Prague, Helena was our tour guide, we had many many tour guides, but none, none came close to the outstanding quality as Helena. Not only was she very informative, but she made it very enjoyable to be with. Best tour guide you could find in all of Prague. There was emotion in her eyes when we came to some monuments in Czech history, you just dont get that sort of passion in tour guide books. Thank you

  We didnt have low water issues. We loved the Danube cruise. Did alot on our own and saved 1000s. Avalon exceeded expectations. Only peculiar events were when docked aside other river boats. No big deal as we only spent nights on board. Views were incredible. If youre a history buff, you shouldnt miss the Danube from Buda Pesh to Prague.

  Despite the conditions of the river and sometimes weather most things we enjoyed. Sometimes a little rushed going from a meal to a scheduled tour. Free time in most places pretty limited. Some items at breakfast not hot enough. Food presented was on the whole great. Fewer desserts of ice cream and whipped mousses would have been nice. A great selection of regional wines.

  My husband and I were to board the ship "Illumination" on October 10th sailing from Budapest. We would be on our flight as I type but checking in 24 hours ago for our Lufthansa flight ago we realized that there was a problem. We then noticed that an email was sent at 2pm that day advising us that our cruise was canceled. We were given a few options and sadly we chose to cancel and not rebook. This was a trip that had been on my bucket list and we booked well in advance to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Upon perusing sites relating to the Danube, it had been well noted that River water levels had been at an all time low for months. We had been advised in September that there was to be a ship change because of the water levels. We question why the decision to cancel this cruise was at the last minute when the water levels were problematic for along time before, I cannot even describe my sadness and disappointment that we have forfeited what was to be my dream vacation. Had we been given more time to make new plans that would have saved us our airfare this disappointment might have been less stressful. We will lose around 1000$ in flights that we booked to take us from Budapest to prague as we extended our stay at both ends. I am also reluctant to rebook as the pain of this happening again would be too much.
