  The tour itinerary was excellent and I enjoyed it very much. The hotels were nice, clean and very safe. The buses and drivers were very good at their job. Max went above and beyond with his kindness and attentiveness, giving us a hand out of the bus when the step was a bit precarious. The tour guides were helpful and knowledgeable. I particularly enjoyed Orilli for her ready smile, her confidence, and good information. Beltran was also fabulous (even though he was the Spanish guide and I was English speaking. He was always ready to help and looking out for our best interests. Carmen Patricia was one of my English speaking guides, and though she was very friendly and upbeat, I felt I received more information and instructions from her Spanish counterpart, Beltran. The English speakers were often left confused about times and meeting places because of lack of information. Over all, I had a wonderful time seeing some amazing places in Italy and Sicily.

  Overall the guides were wonderful, friendly and very informative. It would have been nice if we could have included tours of places such as the Parthenon and the Panythenaic Stadium and Ancient Agora in Athens. It seemed that we were shown places from the outside for free but missed out on seeing them in more depth. Obviously we were on a timed schedule and a budget. If we want to visit those places we will need to visit again. The only complaint that I had was that we requested an additional night before our arrival that was confirmed and we were told it was reserved. A few days before when we received our schedule there was no mention of this extra night. When we queried it we were told sorry for the inconvenience but it's not available. This was not acceptable as I had booked 5 months in advance. When I protested I was given a price which I accepted. After 2 days of chasing up and less than 24 hours before we were due to arrive we were again told it was not available. How quickly does it take to make a phone call and check availability? I was able to book a hotel for myself in 15 minutes. This situation shouldn't happen again for another customer. Apart from this mishap before we arrived we had a wonderful time.

  Well organised but, as expected in this packed itinerary, many hours spent in the bus. Border delays meant we sometimes arrived at hotels too late to take advantage of their facilities, eg swimming pools, gyms - a shame as the hotels chosen were of a good standard. The food included was very good when part of a buffet, awful when a menu, served at a specific time - sometimes very late - when we had to wait until all guests had arrived. The tours by local guides were very worthwhile and informative. The drivers were excellent, and the on-tour guides friendly and helpful.
