The trip completely fulfilled our expectations (with a small restriction regarding Hiroshima)! The days were long and exhausting, but the respective starting points always motivated us to tackle the average daily distance of around 7km or 14 floors! The hotels were all good, as was the included or recommended food. The tour guides were good to top in a certain range, the group discipline in terms of keeping to the times was sometimes quite lax.

I thought the itinerary, sites, organiztion, transportation and accommodations were very good and exceeded my expectations. The only drawback was when we were left in Gion on our own to arrange for our transportation back to the hotel, despite our pleads to ask the guide (Rey) and bus driver to drop us off at the hotel. Rey was supposed to help us with catch a train back to the hotel but he never did. I was lucky to find a Japanese women who help me get on a bus (#7) to my hotel only 20 minutes away and only 230 yen. The company has to give the travelers transportation option advise (bus, train or taxi) if we are dropped off, instead of "take a taxi."

The tour was fantastic, loved every bit of our 19 day tour of the whole of Japan. The tour guides were GREAT and were very knowledgeable and gave us every bit of information we needed and we have left Japan knowing so much about this amazing country. Will definitely travel with Europamundo again.

We recently had the pleasure of embarking on a breathtaking tour of Japan that exceeded all of our expectations! From the moment we set foot in Tokyo to the final moments of our trip, every aspect of the journey was meticulously planned and flawlessly executed. Our tour guides and group numbers changed several times over the course of the trip, (12-20 people total) as there were people on different tours joining and leaving on different dates; however, everything still remained organized, and nothing was ever taken away from the experience. Firstly, our time with Ken Igarashi (Rei) was an absolute delight. Rei's deep knowledge of the city and its vibrant culture brought every landmark and hidden gem to life. His enthusiasm was infectious, and his ability to weave historical context with fascinating anecdotes made each visit to Tokyo's main landmarks a captivating adventure. Rei's attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure our comfort and enjoyment was truly commendable. Whether it was explaining the significance of the Meiji Shrine or leading us through the bustling streets to Sensō-ji Temple, Rei's passion for his work was evident and made our time in Tokyo truly memorable. As we journeyed to other cities, we were fortunate to have David Solanes as our other tour guide. His extensive expertise in Japanese history and his knack for storytelling enriched our experiences at each stop along the way. David's warm and engaging personality made everyone feel welcomed and excited to start the day. His recommendations for local foods and hidden gems in each city were invaluable, and he ensured that we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the unique culture of Japan. From the breathtaking temples and shrines of Kyoto to the serene beauty of Mount Kōya, David's guidance and insights elevated our appreciation of Japan's rich heritage. I cannot emphasize enough how exceptional our tour guides, Rei and David, were throughout the journey. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine passion for their craft were evident in every interaction. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure that each member of our group felt included and had a deep appreciation for the places we visited. The entire itinerary curated by the tour company was a perfect balance of iconic landmarks, cultural experiences, and free time to explore on our own. The accommodations were comfortable, conveniently located, and reflected the unique ambiance of each city. The logistical arrangements, including transportation and coordination, were seamless, allowing us to relax and savor every moment of our trip. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend using Europamundo to anyone seeking an enriching and well-organized journey through Japan as I am very grateful for the cherished memories and friends that I made along the way.

Probably the most strenuous tour we have done as regards non-stop action, walking and steps etc., but amazing coverage of so many places! We did the longest tour available (19 days), and our group members varied as some joined and some left as Europamundo jigsaws people doing different tours together. Maximum was about 28, but for the long Northern section of our tour we were only 8-10. Four different tour leaders, Ray was crazy but amazing, really knew his stuff (I will never forget Date Matsumune and Shinsengumi...) and Pablo, Paco and Kuki were more conventional but equally able. We'll be covering this tour on our (currently being built) Travelsignposts Japan website (travelsignpostsjapan.com), but to give you an idea of the quite intense pace, I shot 1289 video clips (a lot of editing to do!) over the trip and my wife, Helen, made 41 Facebook posts on our Travelsignposts Japan Travel page while we were on the road. This is not a tour for anyone with mobility problems as there is a LOT of walking and many steps. But having said that, a senior Bulgarian lady with a walking stick made it up and down the 1085 steps to the Yamadera Risshakuji Temple! We checked out most of the available tours online and this one included FAR more than the others. But if you want a relaxed trip this is not for you. Travel is largely by bus, with Shikansen from Tokyo to Hiroshima and ferries to and from Hokkaido (an overnight one from Tomakomai to Sendai). Look at the detailed itinerary and you'll realise how much they have packed in and how varied (and intense) your experiences will be. We especially liked the stays in the monastery and ryokan, and the parts of the trip outside the cities. Who knew that roughly 70% of Japan's land area is made up of mountains that remain largely covered by forests? As far as food is concerned, the meals provided are very generous and the cuisine is Japanese. We don't eat meat and had few problems, although make sure your preferences re diet and beds are made known to your guide, don't rely on your stated preferences reaching them from head office! One last thing, Europamundo clientele on this tour were largely Spanish speaking, and we English speakers were very much the minority. This did not matter as everything was done in both languages, and very well too. Our recommendation: if you can take the pace, this tour will provide you with an amazing experience and a great introduction to what Japan has to offer.
