This trek was everything and more than I expected and also taught me lot about humanity. I am much richer for having dug deep to do this trek and highly recommend it to young and old!

An amazing trip made even better by the attention to detail of World Expeditions. Pre trip information was great, guides were sensational, cooks and porters fantastic. Loved the Eco tents we stayed in, very comfortable. An incredible adventure and wouldn't do it with any other trekking company.

TOILET PAPER, PLEASE!!!!! The overall trek and route was Fabulous, however I experienced a Number of disappointing features with World Expeditions. The crew, porters, cooks and assistant guide were excellent. Please DO NOT REQUEST hot water, coffee or cocoa at wake up, only provide Black Tea, NO Exceptions, company policy. What is the big deal? I do not believe two guides were appropriate for the 5 trekkers in our group. Three of the five trekkers became very sick and stayed sick throughout much of the trek. One participant experienced a very severe case of HACE and had to spend hours in the portable A.M.S. chamber, which we all believed saved his life. Evacuation would not have been possible until the next day. Early in the trek a sick participant needed someone to carry her backpack, which neither guide was able or willing to do, so one of the participants carried her pack. Many times we were left with only one guide, as the other was consumed with trying to help sick participants. I was disappointed in our lead guide, who did not take a stand against constant bullying from one of the trekkers. Non stop harassment. A filthy, foul mouth. The night before departure we were given our duffel bags, etc. along with five minimal rolls of toilet paper....to last 18 days! Believe me, 5 rolls of toilet paper does not cover 18 days with many sick (diarrhea) days! I was quite surprised to learn that additional toilet paper would be at our own cost. Never in my life have I ever had to ask if toilet paper would be included. World Expeditions never provided any healthy, high energy food, ie, nuts, dried fruit etc. during the days trekking. Many of the tents at the campsites were in need of replacement or repair. Many zippers did not work, which is critical at the altitudes and weather experienced during the trek. Overall hygiene was VERY LACKING! I Could understand why so many were sick. They provided a pot of ice cold water and the SAME Yucky bar of soap throughout the journey. At one campsite I had to ask THREE times for a bar of soap to wash hands prior to a meal. Dining rooms are only heated AFTER 5 pm. Bathrooms at MOST campsites and ALL ECO LODGES were DISGUSTING FILTHY! No functioning wash basins available at any campsites or ECO LODGES as claimed. We Were NEVER given any hot water to wash dirty socks or underwear! The ECO LODGES were DISGUSTINGLY FILTHY. Would not want my Dog to even stay in one!!!! So Many HIDDEN COSTS!!!!!! When we returned to Lukla for our last night, we were told there would not be any wash water even for our face or to brush teeth, and we would have to purchase all drinking water. Everything was EXTRA!, take LOTS of CASH as you will need it. DO NOT COUNT on ANT HOT SHOWERS! This claim is very misleading as hot showers are NOT available as claimed. With all of the above, I LOVED this trek, however I WISH I had booked with a different Company. World Expeditions was a Huge Disappointment and I would HIGHLY recommend American trekkers to Stay Away from the Many false promises made by this company.

A fantastic trip that was unfortunately cut short by the April earthquake. Everything leading up to it was perfect, food, accommodation and service! Our guides were knowledgeable and happy to help us with anything! Following the earthquake Subal, our guide, made all the right decisions to keep us safe. Even though we didn't achieve our goals, it was an amazing experience.
