- CWClaire· September 6th, 2022I had lots of fun on this trip, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. You spend a lot of time on the lando (just about half of each day). Once you get to the camp it's putting your tent together and unpacking the lando. Then at 7pm it's dark outside. In the mornings (sometimes at 5.30 am) you take your tent back down and load everything back onto the lando. In between we were able to do some short hikes and walks, but there wasn't enough time to really explore the country and see the scenery. You have to stick to a schedule and there is no flexibility. Also a lot of the time, when you didn't book any of the extra activities there was absolutely nothing to do. And the activities were often more expensive than previously announced. The kayak tour on orange river eg is 400 and not 300 Rand. What made this trip great was the people. We were really lucky with our group and all got along really well. Annie· March 3rd, 2019Great experience as a first G adventures trip. The concept is perfect for a single traveller or with friends. When you don’t need to think about the logistics in a foreing country, booking with G Adventures is the best thing. However, there are a few down times during the trip especially when arriving at a destination. Sometimes there are add ons that are offered but there are not organized by G Adventures. Hence the quality of certain add ons is not at theirs best. G Adventures should revise these add ons before offering to their travellers. It would be a plus if G Adventures includes more activities such as hiking and get the CEOs involved with the travellers more in these times.
