- Derrick· February 18th, 2023What a great adventure around Thailand. Our CEO Tun was great and informed us well on history, culture, agriculture and many other aspects. We had fun biking, trekking and kayaking our way around a majority of the country.G Adventures commented on this reviewHi Derrick - Thanks so much! - VBVeronica· February 9th, 2020I felt the trip was OK. I did get to see many areas of Thailand. I believe the tour is overrated for the price point. I can handle sleeping in huts with no heat in near freezing temperatures, and eat with the bugs chewing on me in overly hot steamy jungles, but let me know that is what I need to be prepared for and charge accordingly.Show moreTrip date: January 2020
- SSheri· December 3rd, 2019Fantastic Holiday! The tour was awesome and our Guide Puna was the best. She was very well organized and kept everything moving smooth and on time. Local guides were also very good and knowledgeable about their area. Hiking in the jungle was awesome, but have to admit it was a bit steep in places. Our group was a bit larger then normal (15), but we quickly became friends and shared a lifetime of memories with each other. Can't wait to book another trip!Show moreTrip date: November 2019
- Mana· November 17th, 2019Great tour and fantastic guide (Tun). Very much an adventure/activity focused tour, so lots of exercise with the occasional cultural experience to break it up. The trekking element was great for those in good shape, however was a challenge for those in 'average' and below condition, although to be fair rain was a factor in the trail conditions. I would suggest the trip description better explain the level of difficulty and fitness expectations. I would also suggest limiting the treks to half days only. As a final critique I would also add the first night in the village home-stay had very 'basic' washroom facilities, lighting and outdoor shelter in the communal area. Would suggest improvements here or an alternate stay location. The few critiques aside the overall trip was well organized and managed by our guide Tun, combined with a great bunch of fellow travelers.Show moreTrip date: November 2019
- BLBrigitte· August 22nd, 2019Yui was really nice and committed, however, I think that we got lost in translation more than once. Also, a few times we didn't have enough information on the activities: for the boat trip we were not told to bring a wet bag, which was necessary. We didn't have enough time in Ao Nang for the snorkeling and were rushed the whole time, to the point that we had to go back to the long tail boat less than 1h after having had lunch and most of the group felt sick. Lastly, I believe that the whole Laem Sak bit could have been avoided: apart from the kayaking and the visit of the temple, there was absolutely nothing to do there, so it was absolutely pointless to have two half days free there. The receptionist said there was no pool there, but then changed her mind the following day when we showed her a picture that was on their website showing a pool. Thankfully the bungalows that had a pool were not occupied, so that I and another group member could spend some time there, otherwise we would have had a whole afternoon to do nothing. The nearest hotel with a pool is a 50min drive away. Our guide suggested we rent bikes, but there was nothing to do or see in Laem Sak, apart from the temple that we already visited. Moreover, the hotel there was terrible: my room was full of geko poop on the floor and on the walls, the bathroom sink was full of ants and the bed sheets were badly stained. It was an horrible hotel. Despite it being on the sea, it's not possible to go for a swim: there is no proper beach and the only access to the water it's full of garbage. I was quite disappointed with the last days of the tour: it has been a 12-day tour, not a 14-day one, given that we were left in Laem Sak in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. On the last day in Laem Sak we left at 12 to get to the station where we were 3-4 early and we had to spend the time in a cafe waiting. All this left me with a bad memory of this tripShow moreG Adventures commented on this reviewSorry to hear of the difficulties here Brigitte. We will pass these on to the right folks here. - AAdventureMole· July 27th, 2019A very fun itinerary that covers many different adventures across Thailand. The activities are moderate strength (mainly due to the heat), with 15km bike rides with lots of stops, 6-15km hiking per day on the trek, and casual kayaking, so good for basic level of fitness. Not a very in depth, unique, or cultural experience, with most of the local tours were very commercialized and most of the local guides not as informative or passionate as I expected, some with very poor English, particularly compared to other Thai guides on and off the trip (not all though - some fabulous local guides in amongst the rest) Overall very well organised, although a bit of waiting around and awkward timing at the end of the trip leaving us stranded a few times. Accommodation was excellent with the exception of one place, with unclean and mouldy rooms, lots of insects, bed bugs and rotting smell (feedback has been given to G and directly to accomodation, so expect improvement). CEO was very fun, enthusiastic and supportive, however explanations for activities or history etc were often conflicting and confusing. The tipping was also handled very poorly. There was no time for group discussion and CEO requested 1500 baht from everyone upfront (as we come from wealthy countries and earn more therefore should tip high - an attitude I do not like) and then distributed it to the local guides, not allowing us to decide the price and sometimes without telling us at all. The tips given were also very disproportionate to the quality of time of the service, with enthusiastic local guides that went above and beyond, given equal tips to those who did very little (eg bell boys). Would not have been an issue if our group passed a tip bucket around after each time, but were not given this option.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThanks for the open, honest and balanced review here.Trip date: June 2019
- STSusan· February 12th, 2019Pentor was an excellent guide always energetic, informative, excellent english skills & made sure that everyone was comfortable & taken care of during the entire tour. We were thrilled to have 2 comfortable air conditioned vans. The last van was alittle weak the air conditioner did not cool well. The accommodations were generally clean & comfortable, except for the Ayutthaya hotel- rooms not clean and the pool area was infested with pigeons and their poop & some other type of poop on the walking area surrounding the pool. The overnight train turned out to be better than I had anticipated. The return trip from Krabi was alittle slow and not as clean & comfortable as our first experience. Food at the Laemsak included breakfast would have been nice to have had a traditional Thai style instead of American style breakfast. We enjoyed the eating experience of the street market, plus Pentor's local restaurant suggestions. I was alittle apprehensive about biking thru Bangkok. But, the bike tours turned out to be one of my highlights. All the local guides took great care of us. Overall the tour exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this tour for anyone who is seeking an active, no down time adventure!Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThanks for the balanced and honest review Susan, we do appreciate it.Trip date: January 2019
- TBTracy· February 12th, 2019Excellent trip, our guide was awesome, fun, knowledgeable about the areas and Thailand in general. Our local guides were good as well. The Itinerary was well planned out. It would be much better to have a non-stop flight between Chiang Mai and Al Nong.G Adventures commented on this reviewThank you Tracy!Trip date: January 2019
