We felt a little light headed and dizzy on the high passes, but we recovered well in the evenings at camp. The yummy food and beautiful scenery made up for it all. And arriving to Machu Picchu of course was the best part of it all!Show more

It was such a unique experience. Our guide seemed to like the gesture and did some translating from Quechua to English for us to speak a little to the children. The staff was very professional, and the porters were actually very shy. Make sure you have a sturdy pair of trekking boots and some basic equipment. - ASophie Chang· January 8th, 2020We were really worried about getting altitude sickness as we live at sea level and were flying to Cuzco specifically for this trek. It was smart to stay one night in Cuzco to adjust. The coca tea and chewing coca leaves helped us alot, apart from our sorochi pills. Junior was our guide and looked after us at all times. I'm so happy I did this one especially after hearing about the crowds and queues on the Inca Trail. We were virtually alone on the mountain and I enjoyed it so much. The villagers were sweet and friendly, a very unique cultural aspect of the tour I wasn't expecting. The coca leaf tea and simply chewing on coca leaves, although bitter tasting helped us overcome the altitude sickness.
