The beginning... bamba started operating with a hop-on hop-off bus service. After trial and error, bamba realised that travellers were very interested in not only being around other backpackers and meeting them, but they also wanted to have the opportunity to travel in local transportation, and...

- Cecilia· February 23rd, 2020Didn’t actually go on this trek as the route has been closed due to poor weather, something to be aware of if you’re planning on going during the rainy season. Was rebooked on a different tour (the 4d/3n jungle adventure tour), at the last minute, which was stressful and a bit confusing. Information was a little hard to get until I got to the Bamba offices in Cusco City. Once it was all sorted out, the experience was amazing, and the Bamba staff were very helpful. Our guide, Junior, was amazing and went out of his way to make sure were were having fun and were well looked after.Show moreTrip date: January 2020
- AAndrew Wider· January 8th, 2020Negatives: atlitude, you reach 4,400m on day 1! we felt dizzy and weak but took rests and got to camp to go to bed early. Positives: everything else! Yummy food, incredible scenery, local villages, Machu Picchu, etc etc etc...Bamba Travel commented on this reviewHi! Thank you so much for your comments. - AAndre Crechia· January 8th, 2020Our guide spoke Quechua so we had a special interaction with the village kids. We gave them some snack and treats and the guide translated for us for a little while. We were able to take some really cool pictures of them and we were the only tourists in the village. Besides getting to Machu Picchu, this was by far the best part of the trek for us.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHello! Thank you very much for your valuable feedback! - AAmanda Yee· January 8th, 2020We were two solo female travelers and thought that it might be awkward, but decided to book anyway. Everyone was great and the staff very professional. They were all very shy actually so it was kind of cute. Take good trekking clothes and boots, they come in really handy. We also took trekking poles, travel pillow, towel and extra inflatable mattress but thought it was a little too much to carry in the end.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHi! - AAlex Gustafik· January 8th, 2020It was a pleasure finding this company that is so environmentally and socially conscious. They were respectful of local customs at all times. They left no trace and carried in/out all equipment including the plates, silverware, cups, pots/pans, stove, etc... They really care about the land and people affected by tourism.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHello! Thank you very much for your valuable feedback! - AAdam Harold· January 8th, 2020We flew from sea level to Cuzco for this trek and decided to hang out in Cuzco for a few days prior as we were worried about altitude sickness. We bought sorochi pills sold locally, but our guide Junior who was born in the moutnains told us the most effective remedy was coca leaves so we drank lots of tea. He looked out for us the whole time. Food was superb, kitchen staff true professionals, we were well fed every day!Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHello! - AAna Grimminck· January 8th, 2020I was disappointed about not being able to book the Inca Trail and had to decide between Salkantay and Lares. I chose this one because it was 4 days instead of 5 and seemed like an easier route. It was a true pleasure to have done this trek, we hardly encountered anyone else in the mountains except for the locals who were smiley and sweet. It was almost as if we were peeking into their lives as we passed through their villages. It was a really nice surprise!Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHello! - AVelimir Mouritsen· January 8th, 2020No setbacks or complaints! Lares was real, remote, unparalleled route to reach Machu Picchu in a different way than the popular Inca Trail. - AZoe Hristov· January 8th, 2020We wanted to see Machu Picchu but have a different experience on the way, rather than just taking the train with the masses. This was the perfect trek. We saw local villages, hiked to 4,500 meters, saw unknown ruins, camped in the Andes. A dream come true!Bamba Travel commented on this reviewHello! Thank you very much for your valuable feedback!
