- Brittany· August 10th, 2023Awesome experience!!G Adventures commented on this reviewHi Brittany, So glad to hear this!Trip date: August 2021
- AAnonymous· March 21st, 2023This trip combines 2 memory filled experiences into a perfectly balanced itinerary. G Adventures clearly cares about their staff, their community impact, and my own safety. The trip was organized, yet gave us plenty of opportunities to bond and connect with our fellow travelers. During the Kilimanjaro portion Frances our CEO, Musa/Moses my dream maker, and Gasper my G Fighter really went the extra mile (often literally) to ensure I had a successful and enjoyable climb. During the safari our driver Elly had a knack for parking in the perfect shot for pictures and our CEO Moses was fantastically knowledgeable. Throughout the trip the food exceeded my expectations and the G Adventures chefs accommodated our dietary needs along the way.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi there :) Thanks so much for taking the time to send through such positive feedback. Much appreciated.Trip date: March 2023
- AChloe Coleman· June 21st, 2022It was an amazing experience, an amazing feeling to get to the summit of Kilimanjaro, all the staff ceos and g fighters were incredible and couldn?t do enough for you, reaching the summit without them would of been impossible as you are so well looked after along the way!The safari part of the tour was also amazing, we got to see the big 5! And camping in the Serengeti is something I?ll never forget. An amazing trip that I would definitely recommend!Show moreTrip date: May 2022Review collected by G Adventures
- Sandra2Champkin· August 15th, 2022An amazing tour combining Kilimanjaro climb via Macheme route with a safari afterwards in the Serengeti/ Ngorongoro crater. Trip of a lifetime with the most amazing G Adventures crew. Spectacular!G Adventures commented on this reviewHi Sandra, Thank you for your review! So glad to know that you enjoyed your Kili hike! It's on my bucket list too :)Trip date: August 2022
- MCMicheal· March 4th, 2019The climb was a little challenging, but the G Adventures team really help you make it to the top. The food was good although there was a little too much soup on the menu for my taste. The game drives were long days in the vehicles but comfortable and got to see the animals.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewSo happy to hear that, thank you Michael.Trip date: February 2019
- AGarry S· September 23rd, 2018Excellent all round performance G Adventures for the Kilimanjaro leg of the tour. I rate that part 10/10 - CEOs, specialists and porters were diligent, supportive, timely, knowledgeable and timely. James and his team, Hashim, Francis, Godfrey and Kejeri were perfect. Food was great. Equipment was great and the communication was excellent. We always knew what was happening next. The Serengeti leg of the tour was equally as good in all areas except for one. The CEO, Zuri, did not meet the standard I expected. Her communication during briefings lacked detail and clarity. Often she advised a few of us about briefing or meal times and fails to advise everybody. During the safari she rarely communicated to us but spoke non-stop to the driver literally for hours. It became clear to us that the topic of conversation was not about the Safari. On the days she traveled in the other vehicle our driver, Omerie, was most informative and advised many facts about the animals and their landscape. When Zuri was in the vehicle that communication stopped. On the final day in the Serengeti Zuri spoke to the driver without stopping from 8:00am until lunch time at 12:15. We were gobsmacked. Her performance brings my rating overall to a 9 but if I knew she was to be the CEO on the next Safari I would advise my friends not to do the tour. It's a shame as all other aspects of the tour were fantasticShow moreTrip date: September 2018
- ABarbara P· September 11th, 2018really well organised trip on G adventures part particularly re the Kilimanjaro section.Trip date: August 2018
- ASarah S· October 20th, 2018I would highly recommend G Adventures for travel as part of a group when exploring a different culture (with the benefit of local guides)Trip date: September 2018
- ABa-Tri D· September 9th, 2018Separating the feedback to the two tour sections as they are two different experiences, driven by two different CEO. Overall Notes: - Great experience; Kilimanjaro + Serengeti is the ultimate way to explore and enjoy Tanzania - G Adventure Site could include more detail / be more explicit on what to expect for each portion of the tour. For the Kili portion, this would include type of conditions to be prepared for on Summit night, and sign of altitude sickness as well as possible preventative care. - Tipping customs is hard to figure out as it changes from country to country. It would be great if G could provide more relevant and explicit information on Tipping expectations. As a social conscious traveler, I am always weary of under tipping especially in countries where the local guides / tourist support worker depends on tips as a main part of their income. - In some past trips, we have employed a tipping kitty, where tipping money was placed in a pot, and the CEO doles out the tips according to the groups experience. I found this to be very easy, and avoids any sorts of confusion. It would be great if this is more standard on the G trips. ** Kilimanjaro - Gerald Godfrey - 10/10 --------------------------------------------------- Gerald's Dream Team is amazing! They were the sole reason why the group had a 100% summit success rate. It would be even better if they could be requested for tour dates. I certainly will tell anyone who is interested in Kilimanjaro to see if they can get on a trip lead by Gerald's team. - Gerald's team did a great job of taking care of the group. They love their jobs and are the definition of a high functioning team. They have a knack to be where they are needed at all times. To the point where literally, if somebody slips, they are somehow there to catch them. - We were strongly encouraged to rent the portable toilets at the welcome meeting. We were really, really glad that we did. Feedback is that this should almost be standard for the trips in peak season and included in the costs. At the very least it should be part of the pre-trip information, and recommended. The cost if $400USD divided by the group; I would have brought extra USD had I known about it, and had to dip into my reserve funds. - We are still unsure as to what Issac's role is, he lead the intro meeting, and we thought he was our CEO. It wasn't until we were on the bus that we found out that we're in Gerald's hands. I assume that Issac is part of management. Suggestion would be to have Issac do the kick off, but pass it over to Gerald run the Kili briefing. This would start the CEO off with credibility. Not that he needed it, Gerald very quickly gained our confidence, but this would have alleviated some confusion. - There were some porters on the tour that are in training to become CEOs. Simba and John stands out as having great potential to embody the G standards and attitude. If possible, try to keep and develop these guys. They really embody what I've come to know as the G experience. ** Serengeti - Furahini Bariki Ngoda 7/10 ------------------------------------------------------ Furahini did a good job of leading the group though the Serengeti. His eagle eyes spotted some rare and elusive animals. More than once, we ended up being the first group to spot a new animal. Some general feedback: - Briefings can run a little long, especially after a long day. I love getting the background and more in-depth information. In fact, that is one of the reasons why I come back to G year after year. However, at the end of a long day, that information is not retained. Each day includes some long drives before the "game drive". With some equipment (radios for multiple cars), this time could be used for the backgroud. - Planeterra chimney project is Amazing! Going into an authentic Maasai village and seeing the results is incredible. This is definitely one of the highlights. There are some "tourist" Maasai village that is nothing more than a show to get money from tourists. Very glad that we avoided the tourist trap and got to see something authentic. - The walk around Mto w mbu had the potential to be incredible, but was only okay. A couple things that could make the experience better. First, the walk ended with Lunch, but it was a long walk, so lunch was not until 3PM. The whole group was very hungry and tired, so we were not really interested in anything that was happening from 12-3. This was unfair to the places we stopped at and the people we talked to as we were focused on finish the walk so we can eat. If lunch was placed half way through the walk, we would have enjoyed the stops a lot more, and would of likely leave a lot more tourist dollars in the local economy. - It would be great to have a little more cultural information before hitting Mto wa Mbu. IMO the cultural walk is *the* best place for souvenir shopping. You're buying directly from the locals, so you know the money spent is going directly to the people rather than a fancy souvenir shop. And secondly, the prices are much better.Show moreTrip date: August 2018
