- Miguel· October 7th, 2022This tour was just amazing! From the walk in Chinatown to the walks thru the amazing temples Sit( our local tour leader) was just amazing ! Sit did everything to accommodate everyone. The second half of the tour was a trek thru the hill tribe communities. This was such an amazing experience with Sot leading the way along with other local guides. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting a variety on the itinerary.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Miguel - Thank you for your review! Village home stays and hikes were a unique opportunity.G Adventures commented on this reviewThanks for the review here Micki.Trip date: September 2019
- BVBethany· June 28th, 2019This tour is not all -inclusive. When you get to the hill tribe portion you will owe 900 Bath for your three amazing wilderness guides, 100 Back h per night at each one f the tribes to stay in your hut and for meals, a few taxi driver tips (maybe 400 Bath) and probably a few tips I forgot to mention, in addition to snack and beverage money and money to purchase the hand made textiles from the village women. It is not a lot of money but I wish I had known about the extras so I had taken more money instead of leaving it at the hotel in Chiang Mai. It wasn’t fair to the hard working women in the later villages that we all ran out of money. The experience is, however; worth every bit that you tip the tribes! Day one of the hike is really hard! It is only about five miles but the elevation is steep and several of us struggled with the heat and humidity as well (pack electrolyte tabs). Day two hours s about 9 miles and the elevations are more rolling. Day three is 9 miles of flat terrain criss crossing streams and jungle paths, and is the easiest! You will sleep on thin mattresses in bamboo huts so that was hard for some-I was always too tired to care and slept well until the roosters started crowing anywhere from midnight to four a.m. so you really reset your body clock to nature time. Every single person in my group would do the trip over. Lastly, disregard the packing list. Don’t bother packing a sheet. Don’t bother with any cold weather clothing either. High performance quick dry fabrics are the best because nothing else dries over night in the humidity. Pack an extra tooth brush to scrub the red clay dust from your feet- you will see what I mean especially on day two. Showers are just buckets of clean water you pour on yourself, so I would have packed a small wash cloth to scrub better.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThanks for the detailed review Bethany.Trip date: June 2019
