- BBBetty· November 25th, 2023Hotels were great but food was only average. It was a bit tiring to be on the bus for 11 hours a few days. It is surprising to find out that tips and entrance fees are not included. This increased the price by several hundred. On The Go Tours commented on this reviewAlthough we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay, we are sorry to note some confusion with the local kitty that is listed under the exclusions of the tour. - JLJINJUN· November 14th, 2023Overall a very good tour. However I was very disappointed when touring Gallipoli Peninsula that too much focused on ANZAC while omitting Ottoman Army fortress and museums. Also didn’t have a chance to see Trojan Horse due to ongoing repair work.On The Go Tours commented on this reviewMany thanks for posting your feedback!Trip date: October 2023

- Kally· January 5th, 2020It was a wonderful trip! I took the December 21 to January 3 tour and there were only 7 of us! It could be better if 1. our Turkish guide could be more professional: He was prone to give us long lectures on the places we visited, in most cases at least 30 minutes long in wet and/or cold weather; he demanded our full attention and would not let us begin taking pictures or stroll around or simply enjoy the surroundings until he was done with his lectures (to be quite honest, they weren’t that accurate and interesting) thus depriving us precious quality times to enjoy the many amazing and beautiful sites. We were too polite to tell him to shut up. He literally abandoned us on the last day after we returned to Istanbul and took us to the Grand Bazaar! We could all tell he was impatient and edgy to go home. I think I could put myself in his position and sympathise BUT a job is a job, you either do it well or don’t. We are all grownups and we are all professionals, every single one of us in that group, we didn’t ask much. To cut a long story short on our last day coming back to Istanbul from Safranbolu, the mini bus’s heating stopped working, water was leaking hence the engine got overheated, couldn’t find any garage to check/repair, our guide called his company, arrangement was made to send a replacement car to switch; upon arriving outside the hotel in Istanbul, the hotel concierge didn’t come out to help us with unloading of our luggage (this is nothing new to us, we had been carry our own luggage most of the trip anyway, except three hotels we stayed), when we finally got inside, our rooms were not ready due to late checkouts and our guide just lost it right in front of us in the middle of the lobby, he yelled at the concierge for at least five minutes, we couldn’t understand what he said of course, but I guessed he was accusing the concierge not doing his job. We could by then tell our guide was very much in a hurry to go home because after he made arrangements to sort out our rooms and our luggage to be delivered to our respective rooms he hurried us outside and marched up the road to the Grand Bazaar, the ONLY agenda of that day! He didn’t even give us one of his famous lecture! He didn’t even want or try to help one of the couples who had midnight flight that night, just told them to get a taxi to the airport. He then left. There is another unpleasant instance with this guide about the customer questionnaire he gave us to fill out; he gave us each the evening at Safranbolu and asked us to complete and return to him when we arrive back to Istanbul the next day; I didn’t complete because I didn’t have enough time (I was at two minds whether I should write a complete true review or not) and didn’t think it was that important, but while he was yelling at the Kent Hotel concierge I went to the reception and borrowed a pen. When he asked if we had turned in all our questionnaires and I said no, he was visibly very displeased and annoyed. When I completed it outside the Grand Bazaar during the 3 minutes he was lecturing us about the place and gave it to him, he was very sarcastic, he thought I was lying to annoy him. 2. We were all required to pay our tipping to the guide and I hope he distributed the money he collected from us to the hotels’ staff (housekeeping and concierge services). But we really received minimal assistance especially from the concierges. 3. The hotels: most of them are good, we got to stay at three really good 4-5 stars hotels except one (there was another one but I will let it pass), the Marina Boutique, Fethiye. The hotel was under renovation and they still took our booking! The hotel was not centrally situated, to get to it, we had to pass through a shipyard, a very busy shipyard! I honestly don’t know why we stayed there at all because there was no sightseeing program or agenda in Fethiye! The first day we got there, it was approximately 3pm so was the second day we retuned from sightseeing early and we had more time to do our own exploring of the city, I don’t know about the others, they were all couples, but I was travelling alone and a female traveler, I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe passing through that shipyard. We stayed there for two awful nights, I think for the money we paid, we deserved to stay at a better hotel.Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewWe hope to welcome you on holiday again in the near future!Trip date: December 2019
- AKim Louise Wilson· June 17th, 2019Recep was very organized, he got us to certain sites before the crowds, answered unending questions from the group well from half the group anyway! For constructive feedback we would have preferred less buffets in the evening allowing for more time to explore the city/towns/villages for local fare. Otherwise we really enjoyed our Turkey adventure!Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewThank you for taking the time to post your feedback!Trip date: May 2019Review collected by On The Go Tours
