It was overall a magnificent tour. Our guide Howard Hu was exceptional in his knowledge, forbearance and flexibility. He came up with suggestions for our spare time that we were able to use to visit the Summer palace, which was not in the itinerary. He also went out of his way and got us train tickets to Nanjing, again done outside the tour as we stayed ob for a few days after.

I enjoyed all of the classes: Tai Chi, calligraphy and Chinese cooking, and all of the extra activities offered; even watching 600 performers (some wearing plastic ponchos) on the Li River in the pouring rain! The tasty Chinese banquets were inexpensive and included dishes with regional variations. The excursions to the famous tourist attractions allowed adequate time to appreciate each attraction. The Outside Inn was a welcome change in accommodation style from the big city style hotels.

The tour was was great as was our CEO. I don't feel that the accommodations were necessarily good value, but they were still good enough. My main complaint is was that my arrival transfer never arrived at the airport. And not only did this cost me additional, money it cost a lot of time as well and actually resulted in me not meeting my group until the 2nd day of the tour.
