The tour guides were fabulous. They paid close attention to our needs (individually and as a group). Appropriate (i.e. "non-nagging") encouragement was provided to those of us who were not perhaps as prepared as we should have been. Every detail of the logistics was seen to, many of them in ways about which we were not always aware. The bikes were in great knick, the transfer vans were always clean, and the boat transfers were quite wonderful. FABULOUS tour on the part of BikeWays! This is a comment/concern/complaint NOT about BikeWays, but about Exodus (or perhaps it was Tourradar). Because I needed to make connections for flights to the USA, I had to leave our last lodge earlier than the bulk of the group who had made flight arrangements through Tourradar/Exodus. I was told that, due to this, I would need to pay a VERY expensive taxi fare from the Lodge to Temuco Airport. I indicated in my correspondence with Tourradar that, should others need to take advantage of early departure from the National Park, I would be happy to split the taxi fare with them. Imagine my surprise during the 3-client taxi ride to the airport, to find that the other two (who may also comment on this inequity) in the taxi were not required to pay a penny extra. So... it appears that my extra supplement had paid for the THREE of us to make our way to the airport. Tourradar/Exodus would have needed to pay this fare for them had I NOT gone. Instead it appears that I was subsidizing your company/ies. I expect a full explanation for this situation. (And appropriate financial compensation would also be appropriate.)

This was the first organized bike tour. So I dont have another one to compare it to. Here are my comments 1. Communication with Tour Radar (email and phone) was excellent, they answered all my pre-trip questions. 2. Our Bike Guide and his 2 assistant guides were excellent: very attentive, responsive, helpful, and friendly. 3. Quality of Rooms... (I was sharing with another female) varied a lot. Some rooms were very small, and we noticed that the rooms occupied by other members of our group were much better (bigger and/or nicer) Most noticeable was the room at Baita EcoLodge on our last 2 nights - it was way inferior to all the others-- why? We paid the same as them. 4. We should not have been asked to pay for the TIP for lunches (since lunch was included). I was more than happy to pay the recommended TIP amount for the guides at the end of the trip, but not for the LUNCH TIP. 5. As one of the oldest and slowest biker, I often felt I was being "rushed" to keep up with the others, and was at the "threshold" point between 'pleasure' and "pain".... and no time to stop and enjoy the view, etc. Another time, maybe i should not choose a "challenging' trip? Or a hybrid bike trip instead of a mountain bike trip? 6. Enjoyed the WhatsApp group - to have access to photos from other people. Maybe the guides could make extra effort to ensure we got great scenic ones. I am now organizing photos and wish I had more good ones.... due to being "rushed" to keep up, I missed out on taking some nice pics. 7. Is there a way to order a TRIP Topographical MAP with the actual roads we took? Maybe via National Geographic? Would love to have that, to show people. 8. Value for money. The entire trip with airfare and meals, for Dec 14 to Dec 30 came to USD $6500, which compared to other bike tour operators is high. But airfare was USD 2000 due to high season, If I can find a similar trip for $5500 in future, I would consider coming with Exodus/Tour Radar again..... On the whole a good trip - thank you!! I LOVED this trip! I wish I could go back in time and do it all over again. The landscapes were fantastic, the terrains were varied, the weather was overall good (we were very lucky), the crew (Tai, Yal, and Gustavo) were wonderful... I don’t have one bad thing to say about the trip - or maybe I do: it goes by too quickly! Savor every moment because it is a once in a lifetime experience!
