Going with Julia Travel was the worst travelling experience I have ever had. The list of failing is long - Fail to pick us up at the airport. JT had our flight details and the excuse they used was that the driver waited for 2 hours saying we did not show up. Not sure where he waited but we were in the arrivals area 1 hour after the flight landed and I walked about the arrival area for the next hour looking for our the driver. This was a very bad way to start the holiday and caused great distress to both my partner and myself. It was lucky that we had fellow travellers that arrived about 3 hours after us and we were able to contact them. They were a party of 4 but the pick up was only for 2. The driver arranged a van to take all 6 of us to the hotel. - the standard of the hotels was supposed to be at least 4 star some at best were 3 star - We requested a double bed in our hotels and most of the time it was singles put together - Our booked overnight stay in Marrakesh was cancelled due to a World Bank Conference being on at the time. Julia travel would have been aware of this when we booked the tour and should have advised us that the overnight stay was cancelled. It was only that we talked to another bus load of travellers that we found out that the stay in Marrakech was cancelled. In place we were told it was a 4 hour bus trip to Marrakech, a limited couple of hours on a guided tour in Marrakech, then a 4 hour bus trip back to Casablanca. In the end we found a hotel that was able to take a booking for 10 rooms which was required for our group. Julia Travel refused to compensate us for the lost of accommodation and the dinner that was supposed to occur. - We went to Morocco for the food and experience. The food at the Casablanca hotel was awful and what wasn't eaten for dinner was served up for breakfast the next morning. The staff at the hotel were extremely rude. My partner questioned why the menu listed a wine at a certain price and when we went to order it he said it had increased 20%. When we said it was listed at a price and showed him he took the menu away and came back with the menu and the new price scribbled over the top of the old price. He basically said it had gone up and that he didn't have to serve us and that we could directly go to the bar and get it ourself and it would still be priced at the higher price. - We were taken to a Fado show and dinner and the dinner was again disgusting with many of our fellow travellers not eating it as it was that bad. - Morocco bus did not have WiFi or chargers onboard - Lack of communications between guides and company. It took a long time for us to get the information about Marrakesh cancellation. Some guides told us that we needed to communicate directly with JT as they were the tour organisers. It caused issues between the guides and passengers. Members of our tour rang the 24 hour emergency number on numerous occasions and the phone was not answered and no message could be left. We are not saying that everything was bad. We did enjoy many of the experiences and the most of the guides were very good. The buses were spacious and comfortable but there were some long days spent travelling. I would not recommend going on this tour.

I have to say first of all that I did not expect a First Class tour but what we received was very substandard. We booked a 24 person Maximum English speaking tour. 1. When we arrived there was no one but a driver to meet us and he was trying to find other drivers to transport other people. Overall from gathering our bags to arriving at the Hotel in Madrid was several hours. 2. On the first day of the tour we were supposed to get a Panoramic tour of Madrid. However, no information was provided regarding the time or meeting place for this tour. The staff at the hotel had no information and there was no information board or communication provided. We called the Julia customer service line which is SUPPOSED to have multi language support but I had to hand my phone to the hotel desk clerk to translate. Finally they told us be in the lobby at 8AM. We were there but waited an hour. 9AM was actually the correct info. Our guide for that tour had difficulty speaking and understanding English. 3. Throughout the tour there was a lot of free time and most lunches and many dinners were on our own. Also, be advised you will have to drag your luggage yourself. (We did expect this) 4. When our "formal" tour started our guide was nice but her English skills were abysmal. We were handed off to local guides in many places. Some of whom had marginal English at best. 5. We had two free days in Costa del Sol and I wanted to book a trip to Gibraltar. I asked many times which city in Costa del Sol would be our base so that I could book the trip. I was unable to get the info until the day before we arrived. 6. We had a VERY long day the day we took the ferry to Morocco. Even though the crossing is only an hour, the process overall was three hours to queue up and then get through customs lines three times. Add that to over six ours on buses made it a long day. 7. Many of the Hotels were average at best although a few were pretty nice. 8. We had a different guide in Morocco and then a third different guide when we returned to Spain. This third guide (Carmen) was much better with her English although the accent was a minor issue for me. 9, The final nail in the coffin was the farewell dinner. We got bused to the area and arrived at the restaurant to find we had no reservation. Overall this was a very poor travel company.

We signed up for an English tour and were put on an English/Spanish Tour. The whole bus was Spanish speaking people with only 4 of us English. Our first Tour Guide Alex was horrible. He totally forgot us 4 English speaking Customers. We had to beg and remind him constantly to give us info. When he did we got a very very watered down version. All the other Tour Guides were Great: Mohamed in Morocco and Felipe back in Spain. Alex actually put a Very bad taste in our mouths for Julia travel. The tour itself was Awesome and Most Amazing!

We were on a ENGLISH SPEAKING TOUR but we're placed on a SPANISH SPEAKING TOUR. Our guide with LIMITED ENGLISH would forget us 4 Canadians on tour, many details missed unfortunately for first 7 days.
