Back in 1989, two guys from Melbourne, Australia by the names of Darrell and Manch set off on an adventure to the other side of the world. They travelled to Africa and without air conditioning on their modified truck, they filled it with supplies, some beer, a bunch of aviator sunglasses, and...

Hi Marlene, sorry to hear that your trip was cancelled. We made the difficult decision to cancel the majority of our trips last year due to COVID-related border restrictions, travel bans and safety concerns. Could you please send your booking number to... Show more

Appalling customer service, this company has stolen my money and refused to return it even though the T&C's said I would get a full refund if they cancelled the trip. They called me and followed up with a letter confirming the refund. Based on this I changed my return flight at an additional cost to return home. When I arrived home I did not harass them for the refund, knowing they would be under pressure with the situation. Stupid move. In the 3 weeks they did not contact me once. When I followed up with them they told me they changed their T&C's so that I could have a credit. They could rebook my holiday. Still fighting. I am entitled to get my money back, I need it, especially now. I do not ever want to holiday with them as they are crooks so why do I need a credit? I wanted to rate them zero but had to pick at least one star.

Ok so I’m writing this review as the partner named by my culture/history loving husband as “the bogan”. I like hiking, mountains and great views, The tour was 2 parts with 2 guides. 1st was Egypt. Excellent guide, tour lacking. Way too much free time with very little on offer to do except shopping in street bazaars. That become boring very quickly and we spent hours sitting in hotel rooms. It was a temples and tombs tour. If you’re a culture, history buff you’ll love it. The Nile cruise was the biggest disappointment as we were led to believe we would be cruising 3 days enjoying the passing scenery of the changing shoreline. The boat was tied up for the first 24 hours, wedged between other boats. This means you can’t open the bedroom curtains as you see into the next boat, so the room was a black hole for 24 hours. We cruised for about 1 1/2 days, each night tied up wedged between other boats, sleeping and waking in the black hole. Not at all what I expected. The temples just got better and better as we travelled and the Valley of the Kings tombs was amazing. The beauty of the pyramids was depleted by the mess of current civilization. The 2nd part Jordan was totally different. This itinerary suited me a lot better. No down time, so no sitting in hotel rooms. Loved the desert Wadi Rum, although a bit of music or entertainment in the evening would have been nice. Aqaba not exciting but interesting and the boat/snorkeling tour was good. Amazing clear water and good reef. Petra was a mixed bag. The first sight of the Treasury is again depleted by the mass/mess of humanity. However we did the hikes to the Monastery and The Place Of Scarifice and had an awesome day. A drive back to Amman filled with a few sights. Last day Jerash and Dead Sea. Jerash is a spectalar place with a lot of the origonal infrastructure still existing. The Dead Sea is an amazing experience and huge fun. Just don’t taste the water, it’s really putrid. My biggest tip for this tour is do not book any extra days either end. There is very little that the tour doesn’t cover and Cairo is not a pleasant city. Amman is okay but the famous Rainbow Street didn’t come up to what we expected.

Knowledgeable, experienced, knew what the group might need ahead of time, handled a lost group members lost wedding ring quickly and efficiently, easy to understand. Assisted every group member with their various post trip transportation needs - gave us excellent advice on best way to get to, cross the border, and continue on to Jerusalem with public transportation.

Great trip, first time with Intrepid didn't know what to expect. Everything as promised, Nile cruise accommodations and food were beyond expectations. Our guide Mohamed Maher was excellent: he was easy to understand, experienced and knowledgeable about our needs (e.g. he got lots of small denomination currency for us to "trade in" our ATM withdrawal big denomination money), handled the twelve of us well, unbelievable knowledge of the history and significance of the sites, helpful suggestions for our free time and meal choices.
