The tour exceeded our expectations. The activities were great, the accommodations were excellent, the food was fantastic, and the Grande Daphne's staff went above and beyond to make the experience exceptional.
- by CHARLES SMITHI really enjoyed my guide. She was pleasant and sweet. She knew recommendations for us to eat and tours to attend. Accommodating. When I arrived at the first hotel I was told the water was complementary. But when I checked out I had to pay for the one water bottle I drank. Second hotel.. was ok. Third hotel was the worst. If I had any physical limitations I would not have gotten up the hill. I think the accommodations of the third hotel put restrictions with people with disabilities. In conclusion, they only gave me one towel (No toiletries or face towels). I would not recommend this trip for individuals that are not moderately fit or have some disabilities. Overall I had a Great Guide that earn 5 stars

Flexible and very helpful in last minute changes when we had to postpone the trip. Everything was organised smoothly during the tour, with knowledgeable local guides at every location.
- by Stefan TaalMy husband and I booked this trip to celebrate our anniversary and we had such an amazing time! Diego, our travel coordinator was very friendly and helpful, always keeping us on track and there to answer any questions we had. The Ilatoa Lodge is a hidden gem. Marcello and family were so welcoming and kind, and happy to help coordinate anything we needed. Enjoy your morning coffee enjoying the magical landscape and beautiful humming birds that frequent the garden. Bring a lot of cash with you. Almost everywhere in Santa Cruz takes credit cards, but vendors will typically upcharge for usage. When you get to Isabela - everywhere is CASH ONLY - we could not find a single place that took cards. There are ATMs, but they are not reliable so don't depend on being able to use them. Make sure you bring more sunscreen than you think you will need. You can buy more at any of the pharmacies once you get to the Galapagos, but it will be much more expensive so come prepared. Hats and sunglasses are a must. I also highly recommend a wetsuit or a rash guard shirt for snorkeling as the water can be chilly! Wet suits can typically be rented on town. Some other helpful tip: - On Day 2 (when you arrive to the Galapagos) - if you get the chance to drop your bags off at the hotel prior to going to the Darwin Center - DO IT. You will have to walk about a mile each way, so you don't want anything heavy with you. - Eat at the Santa Cruz Brewery and 1835 on Santa Cruz. The food was amazing. - For the beach day -- the hike to the beach is a HIKE. It is about 45 mins over an uneven so wear comfortable shoes. cobblestone path

On the whole, the trip was good, mostly because of Valentina, our tour guide. She took good care of every tour member and made the tour enjoyable for everybody. Thanks a lot, Val 👍

Excellent service, great communication and friendly staff. Thank you!
- by Inga ZuzeviciuteOur tour leader, Joanne Lunn was not up to the standard required. Day 1 The tour start was compromised by the tour leader deciding that the half day tour be undertaken on the first day rather than the second. Due to flight delays this tour was hurried and we missed the Recoletta. We did undertake this on the second day and were extremely lucky to meet up with a guide who allowed us to join his tour. Otherwise we would have walked the site with no real idea of what we were looking at as our guide did not have that knowledge. We understand that the half day tour being moved to day 1 was to allow any of the party to undertake a full day tour on the second day. We had investigated this option, but after looking at the options, decided against this as we had seen much of BA earlier. Our understanding was that the tour options were to be discussed with us, but this did not happen. If we had booked a tour we would have missed out on the Recoletta. Rosie could have undertaken a day tour to Iguazu Falls, but that was not offered as an option. Lack of preparation. Jo made reference to a 27 Page dossier, with no evidence to show that she had reviewed and was making use of the information contained within it. She was unaware of distances and duration of travel each day, unaware of how many meals we were having each day in relation to the dossiers that we had been given. There was little evidence that preparation had been done in sufficient detail as Jo was completely reliant on the daily guides and local offices for specific information. Reverting to Internet searches when access to guides was not available. There was lack of preparation on important issues such as health and safety. She had no idea of the high risk of Denge fever in BA despite this making international news a few days before the tour started. On day one she should have discussed the possible signs and symptoms of Altitude sickness rather than it coming up in conversation between us. Jo worked out what she considered was the requirement for tips for the entire trip. This was $US40 per person. We all thought that a bit light and agreed on $US50 each. This was all used just after the halfway point of the tour. We are still unsure of why this happened as the tips had been pre-calculated. As the trip progressed she was asking us about tips for the guide and driver when she had apparently calculated tips going forward as referred to. If she was going to arrange tips she should have discussed with Liz, who she met up with on two occasions, what level of tip was appropriate rather than asking us. Again demonstrating lack of preparation. On the day bus ride from Puno to Cusco, Jo's notes (which she had provided to us) indicated that she would be providing snacks for that ride. These did not eventuate. At the single stop we did have she asked if we required something to eat. We responded no as it was too early for lunch. It was never explained to us that this would be the only stop. On the trip to Cafeyate we had a Spanish only speaking guide. We asked numerous questions which Jo translated. It was obvious that detailed responses were made, but only one line replies were fed back to us. Jo has a number of personality traits that were not suitable for a tour leader: Continually interrupting conversations we were having. Very rude. Treating us as though we were children, despite the fact we were all seasoned traveller's. Telling Rosie her room is on the first floor when her room number was 104 is an example. Jo had not done this tour before. She made many assumptions that were not correct and did not make sense to us. She was often proved wrong and had to change her story. This was a direct result of her lack of knowledge and insufficient research. We got to the stage where we did not know what to believe in the everchanging story. She also interrupted guides on many occasions ruining the flow of the commentary. She also interjected with comments that were incorrect and needed correction by the guide. Basically, she talked and interrupted far too often to make the trip enjoyable. Inappropriate interventions of assistance that were not required such as carrying bags when she had her own to manage. Jo commented to my wife Jan at one stage that she was the 'easy one' or something along those lines. This is totally inappropriate given that I, as Jan's spouse was one of the people she was referring to as being difficult. Jo could learn a lot from the way Edwin worked. At the end of each day he gave a clear and concise summary of what expect on the following day, when we would start and what to wear. At one point, in San Pedro de Atacama we had to sit her down and ask a number of pointed questions to get required information. There was a distinct impression that Jo was on the tour because she had not seen most of the sights before. Very nice for her, but it meant she did not have the knowledge to guide this tour properly and was always scrambling to get information to answer our queries. The trip had great scenery and other highlights, and could have been an excellent experience with the right guide.

Unu Raymi Expeditions was extremely helpful, quick to respond, and super accommodating when I needed to adjust my plans due to personal reasons. Their customer service was excellent, and they promptly addressed any concerns I raised. However, the execution of the tours was not as smooth as I had hoped. Since the operator is not based locally, there was significant miscommunication with the local agents. Contacts kept changing, which left me uncertain about who to reach out to at times. Some of the local agents seemed disorganized, with instances of trying to charge extra, not fully adhering to the tour’s terms, and even shortening some of the activities. While the main operator was fantastic in resolving these issues when I raised them, the overall experience could have been much better with a more reliable local team.
- by Anja BankovicDear TourRadar Team, I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the W Trek tour I booked through your website, which took place from December 23, 2024. The tour was operated by Unu Raymi Expedition, headed by Mr. James. The original itinerary, as shared on the confirmation email, was as follows: Day 1: Puerto Natales - Torres del Paine - Lago Pehoe - Trekking Mirador Base Torres - Travel to Torres del Paine National Park - Hike to Mirador Base Torres - Meals: Boxed Lunch, Dinner - Accommodation: Camping Base Torres Day 2: Base Torres - Lago Pudeto - Paine Grande - Catamaran from Lake Pudeto to Paine Grande - Trek to Mirador Carreta in the afternoon - Meals: Breakfast, Boxed Lunch, Dinner - Accommodation: Refugio or Camping Paine Grande Day 3: Trek to Waterfalls, Cuernos Mirador, Lago Nordenskjold - 13.5 km trek bordering Lake Nordenskjöld and Cerro Almirante Nieto - Meals: Breakfast, Boxed Lunch, Dinner - Accommodation: Refugio or Camping Paine Grande Day 4: Trekking to Glacier Grey - Hike to Grey Glacier - Kayaking in Lake Grey (afternoon) - Meals: Breakfast, Boxed Lunch, Dinner - Accommodation: Refugio or Camping Grey or Paine Grande Day 5: Trekking to Glacier Grey - Puerto Natales - Catamaran to Pudeto, then bus to Puerto Natales - Meals: Breakfast, Boxed Lunch However, the actual experience was far from what was promised. Here are the issues we faced: - Day 1: We reached Paine Grande at 5 PM and did not hike on that day. - Day 2: We went to Grey Glacier and returned. The operator informed us that we would need to hike to Mirador Frances and back to Paine Grande the next day, which was not part of the original itinerary. - Day 3: We decided to hike to Frances and stay overnight, incurring additional expenses for camping fees, meals, and other costs (approximately USD 150). - Day 4: We hiked from Camp Frances to Central, incurring additional expenses for meals (approximately USD 75). - Day 5: We paid for transfers from the park to Puerto Natales (approximately USD 25). Furthermore, the operator cancelled bookings for two members of our group, Siddhant and Tanya, on Day 2 without explanation. I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Unu Raymi Expedition and the lack of communication from their team. The changes to the itinerary and lack of support caused significant hardship, including physical and mental strain, and financial losses. I request that TourRadar takes immediate action to: 1. Reimburse us for the additional expenses incurred due to the changes in the itinerary (approximately USD 250). 2. Obtain compensation from Unu Raymi Expedition for the hardship and distress caused during the trek (a reasonable amount to be determined). 3. Penalize Unu Raymi Expedition for their poor service and lack of communication. 4. Review and verify the original itinerary and log changes to ensure that the operator did not alter the itinerary to conceal their mistakes. I hope that TourRadar will take our complaints seriously and take necessary actions to prevent such incidents in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The tours were good, had some issues finding the location of the starting place on morning and ended up missing the bus because the instructions weren’t very explicit, but the tour company rescheduled my missed tour with another which was nice of them. My only complaint would be that instructions for the pickup should be more clear, I had to walk a couple of KMs to get to the place and when I couldn’t find it I got very frustrated. Also it would’ve been nice to have been given the accommodation details when they were promised instead of a couple days in advance.

This was one of our favorite tours ever. We loved our itinerary and our group. Our Manager Sol was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, so personable, and attuned to the needs of the group. I could not recommend Sol more. The highlight of the trip for us was the trip through the Straits of Magellan on the Australis and all of the amazing landings and sights all the way to Ushuaia. We would have loved an extra day at Ushuaia!
- by ElizabethExtra boat ride user pay to petit Moreno unnecessary and a boondoggle. Guide in Buenos Aires ordinary…left out much interesting info we had from our own guide the previous days. Boat waiter particularly helpful. Nature guides in parks and on ground in Patagonia excellent. Calafate hotel good views but poor food and service. Great hotels in B.A.
