Excellent programme and nice places to stay.
- by Noel MirandaReally enjoyed this tour. It was exactly what we were looking for, the independence to do what we wanted on some days and some tours organised for us on other days. Communication from Tour radar was great through What’s App. The only thing we would change would be to upgrade the two 3 star motels to 4 star motels.

It is a shame that this was the last Sound of Music tour offered by Trafalgar (as announced on the tour). The tour took travelers to very interesting places, the tour director (Tony Emmerson) is second to none, and the optional excursions were unique and highly enjoyable.
- by Diane LitmanTony and Tonasket are the best Director and drivers. Very helpful and informative and a truly great personalities!! It made my trip memorable!!

This was a great tour, but a bit too much when your old (like 77). We saw a lot of highlights, and realized we travelled a lot of milage, but it was tiring. All in all, we got our money worth out of the tourn. The tour director was excellent and was able to keep nearly 50 old people on schedule and motivated. He always answered questions about the tour agenda and anything else you could think of. Hotels, for the most part were very good, with the last couple of hotels excellent.
- by WAYNE MILLEROverall, it was an ok trip. Our driver was awesome and friendly. Our tour director was knowledgeable and also friendly. My past bus trip excursions (different companies) picked up our bags and delivered to and from our room and bus. Here were were responsible for our bags from the bus to our room and back to the bus. We weren't allowed to eat anything on the bus except hard candy. Only bottled water was allowed (no sodas). Every day we had to move seats 2 rows so that everyone had a chance to meet other people and have a different view which I liked. Our group had 47 people in it (every seat was full). Would have like a smaller group.

The hotels and dinners were mediocre. The hotels may have been a 5 star hotel but the rooms were 3 star. The dinners were average but nothing special. The tour guide failed to let us know ahead of time that I needed what's app on my phone to be able to view my itinerary. The bus driver was excellent!
- by Catherine RhodasSaw lots of beautiful scenery and historical places in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Our tour guide, Sara, was knowledgeable, patient and joyful. She helped me retrieve my glasses that were left behind. Josef, our coach driver, navigated tight places easily and was courteous and helpful.

- Cabin rooms smelled like sewage, especially ones without open windows. - Two twin beds in main cabins are pull-down beds and are 3 feet away from each other by design. - Staff was not fluent in English nor Spanish. However, they did put in some efforts to accommodate the guests. - There was no telecoms in the cabins, so it was easy for guests to miss the announcements. - Cruise Director Julia was terrible in providing excursion agenda information. She didn’t clarify what were included and what were not in the tours. She had the hightlights of the city on the back of the program papers without saying that they were not included in the excursions and that led the guests to wrong expectations towards the excursions. - Guests had to haul their luggage on board without any help and when the luggage are handed to staff, they didn’t mark our luggage with our room numbers or anything and just put them together in the pile. That gave us a very uncomfortable feeling of having them mixed up or lost. - We had meal drink packages, but didn’t get our glasses re-filled or tended professionally enough at the table. We had to look for the wait staff and wave him over to let him know that our glasses were empty. - On-board entertainment programs were poor. Only about 45’ minutes of violin performance and a quick napkin folding “show”. - Guests were not informed about the Prirate Themed dinner until one day before the event and all guests had already been on board. Most guests couldn’t participate even they wanted to because they couldn’t get the costumes or props in time within a very limited 3 hours to shop while such time frame was supposed to be used for our city visit. Quite a disappointment to many. - The arrival destination was a misleading information. The ship did not arrive in Amsterdam as written on the itinerary when we purchased the cruise. It was only mentioned after we boarded. The final destination was Zaandam, which is about 20 kilometers away from Amsterdam. The guest were not provided any kinds of transportation to Amsterdam at the time of disembarkation. That was so unexpecting and disappointing to most guests. We were all very frustrated to have to make new arrangements for our own transportation to Amsterdam because most of us booked our accommodations or transportation in or from Amsterdam. Cruise Director Julia said that the reason they were not be able to stop in Amsterdam was because of some issues that had been going on since three years ago. Guests were left wondering why the cruise operator did not inform the guests accordingly if they knew Amsterdam was not the arrival destination, especially this was an issue for at least 3 years. We felt like we were fed with misleading information on a lot of things. Such a big disappointment overall!!
- by Lena DoThis was a great cruise overall. In particular the staff were fantastic, the food provided was plentiful and delicious, the stops chosen, tours given and tour guides provided were excellent and the boat was lovely. There were also a few negatives though. In particular I really objected to being charged €10 for 1Gb or 1 day whichever expired first for relatively slow WiFi. We've been travelling around the world now since March. We've been To 28 countries and stayed at 92 different hotels and hostels, some very basic. Every single one, with the only exception of the Crucivita, offered free WiFi. It wasn't always fast or reliable but it was always free. On our cruise, my wife and I found ourselves skipping parts of the tours in Strasbourg, Heidelberg, Cologne and Amsterdam so we could catch up with events on social.media when we walked through free WiFi hotspots in cities, often near cafes but sometimes not. I started really resenting having to do that. It left a bad taste in my mouth that the cruise tried to get money from.us in this way. Another problem was the fixed seating arrangements for lunch. The four Americans we shared a table with 15 times throughout the week were nice folk but it really put a strain on our civility when we found out, half way through, that they were Trump supporters. It would be good if there was an option to sit at a table of your choice for some meals or something. Finally, our room was towards the back end of the boat and so we had the engine noise pretty bad some nights. But overall, it was great. Thank you.

Very nice trip, the ship, the crew and the food all top and highly recommended.
- by Britta MelulisThe A-ROSA Rhine river cruise was excellent in many respects - food, staff, cabins, sites, itinerary etc. Unfortunately it was completely let down by terrible data connectivity. The ship's wifi was so weak that it was impossible to load a webpage, check emails etc. Even the staff were frustrated, as it was difficult for them to do their jobs efficiently, making arrangements for shore excursions, assisting with passenger inquiries etc. What it meant for me was that I couldn't log into my Aunt's funeral live stream, nor do a job interview through video conferencing. The excuse provided was that the system kept jumping between the German & French networks on each side of the Rhine. If the A-ROSA wants to attract passengers this needs to be fixed. Easy fix is for A-ROSA to invest in a satellite solution like Starlink.

With this guided tour, we felt like we were locals. We navigated through great scenic points and great restaurants. Definitely a great memory of a lifetime!
- by BarryHungAbsolute must. Everything from beginning to end was top notch. Stephan's availability and commitment to making this an extraordinary experience was much appreciated. With very short notice he was able to put together a tailored trip to meet all of our requirements.

Well planned out route with just the right amount of cycling each day between villages, vineyards and river paths.
- by Marvin BeierBooklets with sectional maps should have been available in English. Bike seat came unattached on the last day of cycling which was a nuisance & somewhat dangerous

Exactly what we were looking for. All we wanted was access to Oktoberfest with like minded people- people wanting the experience of Oktoberfest from a German/local perspective. After spending weeks in Germany touring ourselves, this was a nice way to end the trip.
- by Neese AlThe tour company should allow the travelers use the bathroom before the trip, instead of directing them to use outside facilities just before the tour started. Maybe just grant one that request.

I can't say enough wonderful things about our Contiki trip manager, Rianna, who truly deserves the title of Tour Guide of the Year! Her empathy, kindness, and dedication to our group were evident every single day. She has this unique ability to connect with each person and make everyone feel comfortable, no matter the situation. Her patience is unmatched, and her enthusiasm is contagious – I’ve genuinely never seen someone so happy to push through every challenge just to make our experience unforgettable. What truly sets her apart is how she approaches each day with a smile, even if she may be facing her challenges or adversities. She brings a warm aura and an uplifting presence to the group, making everyone feel at home, no matter how far from home we actually are. Regardless of the personality or demands of any traveler – even the most challenging among us – she greets and helps everyone with grace, kindness, and an unparalleled level of support. She constantly goes above and beyond, always anticipating our needs and creating special moments that made this trip feel both personal and one-of-a-kind. Her unwavering commitment, compassion, and resilience transformed every day into something extraordinary. She is truly an inspiration as both a guide and as a person in general. I am so grateful to have met her and experienced her talent as a guide. When i mentioned my next travel plan she went above and beyond to recommend two great places & showed me photos and videos of them. Thank you for an unforgettable experience Ri. You made my first big solo adventure one I’m not sure I can ever beat!
- by Jasmine GerchowDem was absolutely amazing. Her knowledge of every place we went really helped to solidify the experience and I learnt a lot through her fun stories and ways of explaining things. She became more than our trip manager she became our friend and our person if we needed anything she was always willing to help

The itinerary was well planned and spelled all the details of yhe tour from the time we arrived until we finished. Information on getting to locations was clear and understandable. Vouchers for hotel and transportation were provided as well as information regarding how to redeem them. We had opportunities to visit the recommended as well as places we had read about or were suggested by friends and coworkers who had either visited areas or knew our interests.
- by Carl Winston ReedThe itinerary was very informative and thorough. It related what to expect from hotel room side to explaining transportation and how to arrive ahead of time for tours.

Our experience on the tour in general was good. There were some points that left us with a bad perception of the organizing agency; one of them is the selection of the hotels. We know beforehand that they are not 5 stars, and that they mention certain limitations; however, one feature that should be an indispensable requirement is CLEANLINESS. When we entered the hotel in Vienna "RAINERS HOTEL VIENNA", the dust in the room was breathable, the carpet was noticeable that it was not vacuumed and since there is no air conditioning to circulate the air, it generates a bomb for people with asthma or who have allergies to dust, as in the case of my wife who had an allergy crisis. The people at the front desk were not supportive at all, totally indifferent to the emergency we had. However, we have to thank the support of Mario Alvarez (our guide) in mobilizing to contact TourRadar and get us a room in another hotel nearby. Thank you very much for your support and empathizing with our situation. Another point in our trip that caused us discomfort, is that they gather different groups that are staying in hotels far from each other; in those transfers to go to pick up the other groups we lost more than an hour that could have been better used in the day. When sharing with other groups that had the same tour but in Spanish, we noticed that the price for their tour was the same as ours (in English), however it included dinners and ours did not. We do not understand the reason for this difference. As for the service of the guides, we could see that not all of them have the same quality of service. They have guides that have less commitment and knowledge. But we love the one who was our guide for half of our tour: Mario Alvarez, for his professionalism, knowledge of the places to visit, commitment to the client and the company, his kindness and service. In a certain period of the tour, we were sharing with two other groups and their guides. And having three guides on the same bus, it was clear that Mario did the work of all three! We reiterate our thanks to Mario, as he made our evaluation of this experience not a poor one.

Tour was OK. Sites great, organization seriously lacking. Indus communication was horrible. Can't get a prompt response from any questions by phone or email but I get daily marketing emails from them instead.
- by J RouleauMarvelous Germany chose some excellent sites in both Germany and France. The hotels were good overall, especially the historic hotel in Füssen. Unfortunately, communication from Indus was extremely poor. Instead of sending us complete itinerary information well in advance, it came the same week of departure (after multiple requests by phone and email that were never followed up by Indus) and that required us to create an account and log into their website to retrieve it ourselves. Buried in the fine print was the name of our German tour guide from a different company ... and Indus got his name incorrect. We were not even given a specific time to meet the guide. Shuttles to and from connecting airports were nonexistent, we relied on public transportation. There was a mix-up with hotel rooms on the first day, apparently Indus was unclear about who was in which room and who reserved single bed versus double bed accommodations. On the first evening, the German guide did nothing but check off names and hand out hotel room keys. He didn't provide any information or guided tour of Frankfurt at all. Our guide was knowlegable but not very communicative. Two older women on the tour with hearing aids couldn't hear most of what he mumbled. The problem wasn't the language, it was as though he didn't have any material prepared to tell us and did not attempt to read his audience to ensure everyone got the message. We all had to ask questions constantly to get anything out of him. During the farm visit & cheese tasting, our guide attempted to translate what the farmer explained in German. It was very clear that the farmer was explaining everything is significantly more detail than our guide gave us. More than once he got it wrong and the _farmer_ corrected our guide's translation. Our guide's navigation, driving skill, and narration were all very below average. We were not on a large motor coach, this was a full size van similar in size to typical bloated American vehicles. On multiple occasions he stopped in the middle of intersections, cut off other vehicles, drove around in circles, missed the correct turn, used turn signals inconsistently, and nearly took out a biker. This appeared to be not due to aggressive driving behavior but rather due to indecision. It looked like our guide had no pre-prepared route plan or parking plan. At many destinations instead of parking at the obvious convenient parking garage and leading a walking tour with a proper discussion, he'd drop the whole group off and let us explore on our own for only a very short time. Why he couldn't park the van and walk with us was a mystery. While the group itself was able to manage, this WAS NOT advertised as a self-guided tour. At Neuschweinstein, our guide made us pay for a public bus -- why was that not included in the tour???? Thank goodness our group had enough local currency on hand to buy tickets. It's simply cheap of the tour company to not pay for convenient local parking and transportation throughout. Meals also felt unplanned. While the tour advertised that several meals were included, it turned out that these were all hotel breakfasts, which were all quite good. We soon learned it was best to have a very hearty breakfast because we never knew where and when lunch might occur. Many days while the guide was "parking" and leaving us to fend for ourselves, we had to find our own restaurant and attempt to eat quickly (not an easy feat in Germany where meals are normally taken at a very casual pace). This subtracted substantially from the time we would have liked to tour the towns. Our guide generally did drop the group off at or near the pedestrian centre of a town where there were options but he clearly did not have specific recommendations, nor did he seem to read the audience to know our dining preferences. In general, he did not express any interest in joining the group for dinners so that too was for us to figure out on our own. On the last day, it felt as though the guide couldn't wait to drop us off as soon as possible at our last hotel and disappear. Biggest complaint of all: we did not feel comfortable that the tour guide lost/broke his mobile phone in the middle of the tour and left us no way to contact him. We asked him several times, and he had many opportunities to buy a replacement. He simply didn't. If any serious incident happened when he was AWOL, we would not know who to contact or how. In summary, Germany is a beautiful place with many interesting historical and cultural things to discover. The big cities were less relaxing with traffic and construction and higher prices but that was to be expected. The small towns, castles, beautiful river valleys and Schwartzwald made up for that. If we would change anything in the itinerary, it would be more coordination and efficient guide to have time to enjoy the small towns. We had a great time with our new friends in the group and would travel with them again anytime. Unfortunately, both Indus and their outsourced local guide company were very underwhelming. With better professionalism and attention to detail, the trip would have been great.
