The group was amazing, we all got along really well and made great memories!
- by Limara CameronReally beat my expectations of what I originally thought the camping was going to be. Tents and equipment were good and the crew on the tour were fab! The food was unbelievable! Not what I was expecting. Trips / days were well organised and everyone was helpful. I would recommend adding a few must to the list interms of headtorch was a must, used every night. Currency, defiantly take pula and USD I had to use the ATM at times which wasnt what I wanted. Zimbabwe boarder crossing is more expensive for Brits $55 they prefer cash. Overall the whole experience was ace, the overland truck and crew were are on the road family! Would recommend this tour. 10 days camping was plenty for me though outing tents up and down. Great experience!!

We just completed our Safari in Zambia Botswana and Zimbabwe… it far exceeded our expectations mostly because our tour guide Rachel was outstanding, knowledgeable and very helpful and Lucky our driver was exceptionally patient and both of these young people made our trip unbelievably fun! We also loved the game drives and stops at local villages… absolutely LOVED this trip and will definitely return to Zambia for a repeat trip!
- by Denise RempsonI suggest customers thoroughly research safaris and confirm where you are staying and the costs that are not included in the trip. There may be a lot of surprises. I have to say the employees are wonderful. Fines, Cynthia, Lucky. I had a lot of questions and all were answered. My only issue is how Lochinvar handled the lady, demanding $420 CASH for the trip that she and we booked way in advance. This was only the beginning of my 3 separate bad experiences.(the other 2 were Kenya, julimas safaris (demanding cash for park entry fees). I googled and called the park and confirmed they accept credit cards)and Sabilom Kenya tours. (They canceled the balloon option after collecting $900, then offered, only after asking, $675. I didn’t have to pay extra for Hwange Park because I chose not to agree with the “change. ” there was supposed to be a waiver. I never saw a waiver. Unfortunately, a lady on our budget trip was charged extra to go to hWange Park(according to her). I was told, She was advised to cancel that Hwange park game Drive and go to Zambizi Park instead. I was told they cited dangerous roads as the reason for the “change”She said she wasn’t granted any partial refund for the lesser Park, but says she felt intimidated in to canceling the hwange park. We went anyway( my partner and I refused to cancel Hwange) and she had to pay $420 extra cash or they would not take her, but we were going anyway . How can that cost $420 extra when it was included initially? . I feel bad for her and for all the other travelers that may have done the same thing and canceled that hWange Park. It was lovely. So many animals and the roads were the usual bumpy dirt roads but nothing serious. In the future, I would spend a little more money and get better hotels and be much more aware of the itinerary and reconfirm in writing. Dealing with her problems($420) for the entire 8 days was avoidable. Mark( the owner I think) even asked my partner to write up a release for her and us to sign!!! I was there on vacation! By the way Victoria Falls was dried up on the Zambia side. I also want to say the The best company I’ve ever used for booking tours is: “Get Your Guide” they care, and have assisted in getting my refunds. The lady says tour radar has not helped yet to recover her $420 , that she feels was an over payment. I’ve been reading a lot of reviews about Zambia. This is not the only tour company that has disappointed guests. I know there’s a drough and all, but i think tour providers should try to do things as promised and exceed expectations. I will continue to use “Get Your Guide” as my go to for tour providers.

terrible start hotel changed without saying anything from one at Century city in Capetown to one in the middle of downtown we were not happy with the change and given a terrible reason
- by Patricia SartieGetting detailed confirmation of accommodation and fine details from Little Roz Tours was very difficult. Hotel in Cape Town (Colosseum) was NOT luxury as described but acceptable and well located. Staff all very kind and helpful. All guides were fabulous and tours pretty well organised. Complications with pilots on strike on Xmas day were finally sorted and losing a day in Kruger NP due to that was disappointing as Kruger NP & Nyati Big 5 Safari Lodge was the best part of the booking with Victoria Falls, Ilala Lodge Hotel, a close 2nd. Travelling solo I was surprised not to be part of a ‘group tour’ as I expected but luckily I am an independent person so it worked out and along with the other day tours I organised for myself I have the most amazing memories and photos to look back on. Thank you.

evverything was handled very well and I liked that I didnt have a core group and that I got to do things with different groups each time as I met a lot of people
- by Thomas RamseyThis Victoria Falls / Chobe tour was an end-to-end incredible experience. The local tour partner did a phenomenal job, and is apparently known as one of the main operators in Victoria Falls - you will see their presence in branding all across town and even in the VFA airport. The itinerary was clear, the tour operator was responsive, and the staff were very hospitable. There is enough flexibility in the itinerary for a slew of additional optional activities in the region. We would highly recommend the local tour partner to others. As a side note - the tour we booked listed “camping OR chalet” as viable accommodations; we were assigned camping accommodations that seemed comfortable and clean, but we were still able to pay for an upgrade to chalet without hassle.

Our air carrier got us off to a rough start be delaying our arrival into Cape Town by over 24 hours. And we never heard from or located our Globus host in CT to coordinate how to make up the missed events or start an occurrence report to submit for compensation. However, once things finally got going, the trip was great.
- by Frederick MahleyDO NOT USE GLOBUS!!! Cape Town and Makalali Lodge were amazing and would highly recommend them. The hotel in Johannesburg was nice but was kind of a waste of time to go there for 2 nights just to get a glimpse of the Apartheid. That should have been skipped or moved to the end since we were flying out of Joburg and made it a post extension option. Victoria Falls was beautiful but again 2 nights there is too much. It should have been a day tour or just one night. Nothing to do there once you see the Falls. Never any water on buses in the cities and for the price we should have had this and more meals included. The most disappointing part was that our guide, Wendy. Not only was she not very warm or personable, she never waited for the group to gather before going to the sites, but she didn’t travel with us to Botswana. Globus never mentioned this in any pre-trip information and Wendy didn’t tell us until we were leaving for Zimbabwe. She made it sound like she was leaving but another Globus guide would fill in for the remainder of the trip. That was not what happened. When we left Zimbabwe, Wendy flew home, and the rest of the tour group got on bus to the Botswana border where another bus picked us up and took us to the lodge. We were on our own for the rest of the trip. The hotel staff at Elephant Valley Lodge was very nice and told us what we had to do for our remaining time, but we should have had Globus representation. So many things could have gone wrong, and they were lucky that nothing did. At Elephant Valey Lodge, our agenda said we would have morning and afternoon game activities where we could choose from a game drive in Chobe National Park or a boat excursion. It ended up that there was not a morning and an afternoon activity but instead, they made us leave at 8am and return at 4pm on an all-day jeep tour in Chobe National Park. 8 hours in a jeep was awful, hot and boring. This was totally false advertising. The tents at the lodge were similar to the picture on their website but much dirtier and lots of bugs. I wasn’t prepared for that. I would go back to Africa but definitely not with Globus. The part I left out was that Wendy came up to me in Victoria Falls and handed me papers that would be needed for the group for the remainder of our trip to Botswana and then back to JoBerg. She knew that I planned corporate incentive trips for my job so she decided I could manage the group once she left. She did not ask me, she just gave me the papers. I had our hotel certificates for Botswana, our flight information back to JoBurg, I had a list of attendees with their personal information and then my personal agenda. I should not have been given any personal information for the other travellers. I did tell her that I would not accept any responsibility for the group and that she needed to tell the entire group what was going to happen so we all knew what to expect. I said I would carry the papers but not be the point of contact. This was totally not acceptable. I filled out the survey and also sent emails to Globus. They have never responded to me. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. The fact that our guide left, the tour was not what was published, never water on any buses in Cape Town or Johannesburg, and didn’t respond to concerns about the trip is very frustrating. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GLOBUS FOR TOURS!!! There are better companies who are less expensive and have more included and way better customer service.

Overall, I was happy with the “what I paid” versus “what I got”. I’d give it a solid 9 out of 10. We had a really good trip and I am glad I chose this vendor. NB: This is not really a group tour—it’s more like a package deal with a travel agent. So, you won’t have the same guide through out. But you also don’t have the hassle of traveling with 30-40 people at a time. I’m kind of an anxious traveler (you know the kind—I map out things in advance, print my tickets and itineraries in advance, read all the hotel reviews). So, when we got started I was very concerned that I didn’t have things like confirmation numbers or exact schedules. However, after a few days I realized this just seems to be how things are done there and I didn’t really need those things. Don’t worry—if you hit a snag (and you will—just little hiccups), Andrew is always available by phone or text. Be aware that currently (Sept 2024) Vic Falls (Zimbabwe) is almost completely a cash economy and they only wanted American dollars. I was unprepared for that. The border guards would not accept a credit card and neither would the Vic Falls national park people. Most other vendors also wanted cash and nobody has change. Bring plenty of $5’s and $1’s unless you want to overpay. Vic Falls was $50 each and border visa is nominally $35 each but in practice the border guard had me hand over my cash and then took what he felt was appropriate.
- by Ella KunduMy friend and I had a wonderful vacation in Africa. Each place was very unique. Victoria Falls was beautiful. We had a fun time and met new friends on the dinner cruise. (Lots of hippos and saw some elephants). Then, in Chobe, we went on another sunset cruise and safari. We saw so many animals at a close distance. We saw hippos, elephants, Cape buffalo, giraffes, zebras, crocodile, wild dogs. We even watched a pride of lions for over an hour. It was magnificent! The Chobe safari was just me, my friend and the driver, so we could spend time in areas where we wanted. Next, we went to Kruger. Here we completed the Big Five and saw Rhinos and leopard! I didn't know what to expect with the panorama viewing day, but it was better than I could have imagined. Such beautiful landscape and waterfalls. We finished our trip in Cape Town. It's mountains and oceans. We enjoyed seeing the penguins at one of the beaches. We even saw ostrich around the Cape of Good Hope area. To top it off, the South African Springbok Rugby team won the World Championship, and we went to the celebration! The accommodations were wonderful. We enjoyed the food and the places our drivers took us to. I even tried ostrich fillets, and they were delicious. I was in communication with Andrew through WhatsApp during the vacation. He checked in many times to make sure everything was going well. Overall, we could not have asked for a better African Experience!

What can I say, an excellent trip from start to finish, picked up from the airport on time by my assigned driver, Wilson, who took me to my hotel, the Shrub Lodge, and what a little gem of a place, beautiful, nice and quiet, extremely friendly, polite, and pleasant staff, comfortable, clean room. The walking tour of Victoria Falls was out of this world, as a solo visitor I had my own ‘personal’ guide, Locke, she was brilliant, very friendly, knowledgeable, and just gave my visit that little something extra that I will never forget. The sunset cruise on the Zambezi was amazing, and very relaxing. Did an extra optional helicopter ride over the Falls which was an awesome experience, well worth $175. Was picked up from hotel on time and was back at the airport with plenty of time for my flight. Overall my 3 day tour to Victoria Falls was an amazing experience.
- by Paul BrownThe organised activities and guide were very go9od. The accommodation was bad. Both our rooms has gas smells that came from the generators and made us feel ill.

I recently took a lovely private tour, and it was wonderful! Our group of amiable native guides and fantastic private driver made the journey great.
- by Leia OlsonATC 57 Day African Adventure We have just finished ATC 57 Day Cape Town to Nairobi overland trip, and though the staff on the ground for the most part were very good, the actual organisation of the trip certainly does not provide the best value or experience on the market. Parts of the trip were disorganised, very expensive comparative with other companies, meals paid for were not made available, suppliers used by ATC were slipshod in their attention to detail and expensive. Booking through On The Go Tours we were informed that there was no way that optional excursions could be paid for in advance, we were therefore surprised and annoyed to find that other travellers on our trip using a Dutch Agent had all major excursions included in the price. Itineraries supplied by different agents for the tour were slightly different and this caused confusion with at least one out of the three trip leaders we had, and meant last minute changes in plan. Changes in tour leaders, cooks and driver also meant meals paid for were not provided, and we actually had to pay for a meal at the ATC Nairobi campsite that was included in our package. The new tour leader indicated he would investigate this with the office but no further comment was provided by the tour leader or ATC. Campsites had been changed comparative to the itinerary supplied and due to not camping inside national park game viewing opportunities were lost. If using ATC ensure that any changes in itinerary do not affect the paid for activities. Equipment used especially on the first two parts of the trip were "well used" to say the least, and in my opinion the cooks knives on the final part were dangerous to use and unhygienic with handles falling apart. Optional tours with third party supplies were found to be 25% more expensive than other operators offering better value both at Victoria Falls and Swakopmund, which given the amount of business generated by the overland tours was disappointing to learn. If you use ATC I would strongly urge you to shop around at both these places. Tour teeshirts out of the four ordered from ATC recommended supplies two in Kampala and two in Vic falls, none were provided as agreed with the suppliers representative, which was very disappointing. We did go to all the places within the itinerary, and much of the trip was enjoyable, however, if we were to repeat this trip we would use alternative companies which offer similar itineraries. Do not be fooled by the cheap upfront price, by the time all optional extras are included it is certainly no cheaper than going with others who include these in the upfront price.

The trip itself was alright (though not amazing, quite a few hiccups. The tour guide was great thou), but this review is about scammy practices of Contiki the company, and their poor customer service. They lie about what's included in a trip and overcharge I did Cape, Falls, Safari trip with Contiki in December 2023. There were several instances of Contiki suggesting that an activity is included to the price yet they charged it extra in the trip. The PDFs they send before the trip (and the info they show before they sell) make it sound like a lot more is included than it is. When I confronted them about this, they refused to take accountability. Overall, scammy company. You'll end up paying A LOT more than the base price, unless what you wanna do is literally stay in the hotel the whole trip. Also, they take *28* days to reply to your messages, which is insane. So disappointing! Never booking with them again, and will keep telling to everyone.
- by Cihat ImamogluThe accommodation on the last night was unsettling as the owner spoke of murdering black people in the past but the rest of the trip was fantastic
