Our top itinerary for four weeks in Australia

Perth to Kalbarri - Start your adventure Down Under in sunny Perth. Once you’ve explored Western Australia’s vibrant capital, head north to Nambung National Park to explore The Pinnacles. Journey on to Jurien Bay, where you can sand-board down the massive expanse of dunes. From here, continue on through Geraldton to the quiet beach town of Kalbarri, known for its striking seaside cliffs.

Kalbarri National Park to Shark Bay - Today take a short drive to Kalbarri National Park. Hike around some of the park’s diverse scenery, including Murchison Gorge, the Loop Walk and Nature’s Window. After lunch, visit the beautiful Shell Beach, which is one of only two beaches in the world composed entirely of shells. Get back on the road and continue towards Denham and Shark Bay.

Monkey Mia to Coral Bay - After a short drive across the Peron Peninsula, head to the beach and meet the world-famous Monkey Mia dolphins. The next stop is Carnarvon where you’ll see the fascinating stromatolites at Hamelin Pool. Then, continue along the highway to Coral Bay, which is known as the ‘Jewel of the Northwest’.

Coral Bay to Yardie Creek - Explore picturesque Coral Bay, home to the World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef. Snorkel equipment is available to hire, or you can cruise the reef in a glass-bottom boat to observe the tropical life teeming below the surface. In the late afternoon, drive to the campsite at Yardie Creek in the Cape Range National Park, near Exmouth.

Exmouth and Cape Range National Park - Spend the morning snorkelling right off the beach in the stunning Cape Range National Park. Take a visit to Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, one of the few places in Australia where you can see the sun both rise and set. Enjoy taking a wander around the town of Exmouth before settling down in a permanent campsite.

Karijini National Park - Head inland today through the vast cattle stations of the Pilbara region. In the afternoon pass through the little town of Tom Price, which is renowned for its iron ore mining. Spend the night at a campsite overlooking the magnificent Hamersley Range in Karijini.

Four-week itinerary for Australia & New Zealand

Melbourne - Start your sightseeing at Fitzroy Gardens, then drive past the lush Royal Botanic Gardens. You’ll discover the city’s differing architectural influences as you see the Victorian Arts Centre and other buildings of significance.

In the evening, dine at a local restaurant and immerse yourself in Melbourne’s passionate food and wine scene or walk along Chapel and Brunswick Streets for a spot of shopping.

Cairns - Fly to Cairns and spend a day relaxing in this tropical paradise. Catch some rays at Palm Bay, visit Cairns Botanical Gardens, or explore nearby Daintree Rainforest — the options are endless!

The Great Barrier Reef - Prepare for the experience of a lifetime when you board a catamaran and cruise to the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Explore this underwater world that is a dazzling kaleidoscope of colour and brilliance. Choose to snorkel or take a glass-bottom boat tour and view the reef from an underwater observatory.

Sydney - Next, fly to Australia’s largest and most famous city: Sydney. Visit the Sydney Opera House, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a guided tour of its interior and theaters. Travel to Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair in the city’s Botanic Gardens for a great photo opportunity and sweeping views of the harbour, Opera House, and Harbour Bridge. Visit beautiful Bondi Beach and then enjoy some of the city’s best vistas on a Sydney Harbour cruise.

Christchurch - Fly to Christchurch, the largest city on New Zealand’s South Island, then travel south to magnificent Mount Cook National Park, named after New Zealand’s highest peak. If the weather permits, join a stargazing program in the evening. The Mount Cook region offers some of the darkest skies in the world—perfect for viewing the southern night sky.

Queenstown - Start the day with a visit to the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine for a deeper insight into the history and culture of this region. Afterwards, continue to Queenstown, the “Adventure Capital of the World.” While you’re here, take advantage of all the exciting activities on offer, from bungee jumping to jet-boat rides and canyoning.
