We are happy to hear how much you enjoyed your time with our team in Jordan and the small-group nature of the trip. Making new friends is one of the real benefits of group travel like this. We're sorry you didn't like the hotels so much though. We use the La Casa Hotel weekly. This is a decent mid-range 4-star hotel, while the hotel in Petra is a good 3-star level. However, unfortunately, due to the year-long conflict in Israel & Gaza, there have been very few tourists in Jordan. This is, unfortunately, also affecting the quality of service in hotels, with the quantity and variety of breakfast provision being impacted as well sometimes. The Jordan section of your trip is based on a standard tent in the Wadi Rum. For your departure, we upgraded the group to luxury tents. We generally receive very good feedback on these tents. Again, We're sorry you didn't enjoy your time on the Nile Cruise boat in Egypt. This was a locally rated 5-star superior level boat, which is certainly not at the bottom end of the scale, though neither is it one of the high-end luxury boats either, as those do not fit into the style or budget level of your trip. We've relayed your feedback to the boat management so they can ensure continuous quality checks on the cabins. Yes, it has been a particularly hot season in the Middle East. We hope you will cherish your trip memories despite the hot temperatures.

Dear Melissa G, We want to take the opportunity to respond since we don’t feel your review is entirely fair - a member of our Reservations team explained the booking conditions to you regarding cancellations by travellers for trips scheduled to depart. As we have explained, many financial elements are covered in the deposit amount – many of which are non-refundable to us as well. These include non-refundable card fees, non-refundable financial protection fees, agent fees (since you originally enquired via an agent), and the work and time put into processing a booking and making the arrangements. We may be able to fill the places on the trip that you have released, but also, we may not. This is why all tour operators have very similar cancellation policies, which work on a sliding scale with the penalty getting higher the closer you get to departure. We don't think it is fair to expect a full refund for a trip that one has booked and received a confirmation for, but no longer wishes to take.
