- GMGary· December 13th, 2024We enjoyed our time in Jordan and our many unique experiences! The most important thing to note was how safe we felt traveling around the country. The main highlight for us was seeing Petra. The crowd sizes were small due to the political climate in the area, but that worked out to our advantage. Another highlight was getting the opportunity to float in the Dead Sea. Other stops included Aqaba, Dona, Jaresh and Wadi Rum. While Wadi Rum was nice, you should know most of the interesting activities take place in the spring. If you have ever thought of traveling to Jordan, we highly recommend doing so!Show moreTrip date: November 2024
- PMPhyllis· September 4th, 2023I loved the trip so much. From the first class hotels to the tour guides, driver and all the sites visited. It was truly an amazing experience and I wouldn't have changed a thing. Thank youEncounters Travel commented on this reviewWe greatly appreciate your five-star rating. - GMGregory· May 16th, 2022This was a great tour! I really lucked out because I had other travel plans fall through and came to Jordan with only about 24 hours notice and less than a week before this tour started (fortunately another group had already booked one in my available time frame and I was able to tag along) Food was great (note: I'm not a vegetarian), sites were amazing, and Amer was a fantastic guide. Had great insights to the culture and advice on maximizing time at the sites. Petra, of course, was great, but I thought Jaresh and Wadi Rum were even better. Dead Sea and Mount Nebo also were high lights. Amman was very accessible... Take an extra day to see the Jordan Museum and wander Rainbow Street.Show moreEncounters Travel commented on this reviewHi Gregory, the kind words you’ve shared in this five-star review mean the world to us. - BHbeverley· November 24th, 2019Itinerary too rushed - due to distances and traffic we had to skip the walk in the Dana Bio and the Rasoun hike was shortened because we arrived almost at sunsetEncounters Travel commented on this reviewDear Beverley, Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated. The hike in Rasoun was a little shorter than is normal on your tour, and during the winter months we're now starting that day earlier, so that we can get more time around Rasoun... - IMIda· April 24th, 2019It was a lovely journey. Our guide Riyad was delightful. He was competent, caring, professional with a great sense of humor and I felt we were in capable hands. Our driver Waleed was also a terrific gentleman. Although Petra is certainly a main attraction, experiencig Jerash was equally as awesome. Our home stay was wonderful with warm, cozy accommodations and a most hospitable guide in Esa and fabulous meals prepared by his charming wife. One concern is Petra by Night. Although it seems to be highly recommended, it’s a rather precarious walk over rocks and very uneven surfaces in the dim light and although it was lovely to see the spectacle, my 3 companions felt as I did that it didn’t quite live up to its promise We were all much happier to go in the next morning early and missed the crowds. And by going in at night you miss the grandeur and the majesty of the Siq. Oh and by the way, staying overnight at Wadi Rum and doing the camel ride before sunup was also a great experience. I’ve left out so many of the magnificent and interesting ancient structures we also visited but they were very worthwhile to see as well. One more slight cavil: a little down time would have been welcome. I think I’ve forgotten to mention the food, which was absolutely delicious, whether on our own or meals that were provided. In conclusion my friends and I. Had a marvelous journey and we would not hesitate to book through TourRadar or Encounters another timeShow moreEncounters Travel commented on this reviewDear Ida, thanks for taking the time to get back to us with your tour feedback.
