  Two weeks camping in Iceland with Madventure - what an experience! We had breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, very soggy weather and lots of laughs. Claire and Kev were the best crew and were on hand for all of us at all times. The truck was full, which I've never experienced before but the group were amazing and I felt right at home from the start. Could have done with a little more sunshine - but hey, that's Iceland for you. It just made the sunny days even more amazing. Bringing your own tent to sleep in was not a problem and after the first night it goes onto the truck for the duration, not back in your suitcase so it's just a question of getting it to site and back again. I have so many amazing memories of this trip and group of people. I'm already planning my next Madventure for next year!

  I recently completed the Madventure trip to Iceland, and all I can say is that I would do it again in a heartbeat! The booking process with Leanne (the biggest sweetheart in the world!) was super easy. The information that we were given from the beginning was informative and realistic (seriously, why do people no read the pre-departure notes?). The trip itself wouldn't have been half as awesome if it weren't for our leader Claire and our driver, Kev. The things that she can do in a cooktent and he can do with a steering wheel are not to be believed! In every group there's always one person who seems like (s)he's going to be trouble...I'm afraid I was that one (totally my fault- I was a bit unprepared (yes, I did read the pre-departure notes!)) BUt, Claire was amazing at helping me fix my problems, and did it with a huge smile! Her meals were delcious, and she went out of her way to cater to different allergies, lifestyles and general dislike of certain foods. This is an overland trip, so everyone is expected to pitch in and help. Luckily, the vast majority of the group was on point with this and we worked as an amazing cohesive team setting up and breaking down camp each time. The truck is as comfortable as an overland truck can be. We rotated seats so that everyone had a chance to sit in different spots. There are 10 charging points and a lockbox for important documents. The itinerary is great - it's fast paced in that you are in a different spot almost every night, but it never felt rushed. We had time at every stop to do things. The campsites were fine - some better than others (there's one with a beautiful waterfall right in camp!) There are a couple of long driving days, but as I said, Kev is an expert in getting you where you need to go safely. If you have any doubts about this trip, get rid of the, and get on the website to book it! You will not be disappointed!

  The two week MADVENTURE overland tour of Iceland was amazing and surpassed our expectations. Our driver, Kev, and tour leader, Claire was fantastic. Their experience and input added greatly to this well planned expedition. We visited every nook and cranny of the island and, by overlanding and camping out, were able to reach places that were remote and would have been inaccessible to us using other forms of travel. We saw fiords, mountains, larva fields and volcanos. We watched puffins and other seabirds, whales and arctic fox. We visited mud pots, hot pools and geysers. We hiked on a glacier, sailed in a lagoon full of icebergs and took photos on a black sand beach covered in large diamond-like chunks of ice. The truck in which we travelled was spacious and comfortable. The food was nourishing and plentiful. The campsites were clean and well chosen. The excursions were superb and well worth the added cost. The pre-trip information we were sent was honest and important. There were no adverse or unexpected surprises. It was necessary to take proper clothes for keeping us warm and dry, as well as a good tent and warm sleeping bags. We did have some inclement weather, which was no surprise as Iceland is in the northern part of the North Atlantic, but it did not detract from this amazing experience. Dorothy and Vaughan

  Wow, what an incredible experience. If you love outdoor living and waking up to beautiful surroundings, then this is a trip for you. It was a throw-back to guiding, but on steroids! It was my first time overlanding and camping, and, despite my reservations up to the day I travelled, I'd do it again in a heart beat. The sights that I saw made it the best holiday ever - the scenery was jaw dropping. We were on the move constantly so I often snoozed on the truck. The food was delicious and varied - we were never hungry. My worse day was when my tent collapsed on me due to the strong wind! Everyone rallied and my tent, as well as others, were moved to a more protected area from the wind! I was never cold but that was down to following Leanne's advice on what to bring. I've no hesitation in recommending this type of holiday, but I think I need to work up to the 5 month trip that I have my eye on!

  Well this trip was on the life changing platform. A unique opportunity to travel the whole of the island perimeter route including the western fjords and an option to go into the heart of the island to Askja volcano crater, has landed in my memory as an epic venture along with my best memories of travel. With Kevin and Claire leading us we were in extremely safe and enjoyable hands. Camping the whole way round made Iceland affordable. So many highlights and sharing the over landing experience with the group just made it great. Who wouldn’t want to do it? I think a big thank you is in order for Leanne who helps from my own experience and huge swell of feedback from all on the trip, in the booking and preparing us for the trip. Plus Claire and Kevin on the trip. The founders of Madventure have a winning formula here. Please don’t go unless you are willing to get stuck in to all events, highlights and practicalities of camping daily and moving on. Take good kit- it’s Iceland. Enjoy xx Sharon July 2024.

  Whole island in 15 days. Never rushed. Always authentic. Knowledgeable leaders. No frills value for money. Extras optional. The way most adventurers want it. For overlands I will always put Madventure top of list. And it’s cheaper than staying home doing nothing!

  See all the highlights of Iceland on an inexpensive budget! Single pot meals at night and porridge in the morning kept costs down and the focus on other-worldly features of Iceland. Great camaraderie with the tour leader/chef Claire and driver/cook tent specialist Kevin and 24 lucky tourists. Backfill any additional meal with stops at various grocery and convenience stores. Iceland and Madventure are Awesome!

  Recently finished the Iceland overland tour - an unforgettable experience, well run with experienced tour leaders, very good value for the money. A great way to travel and make new friends from all over the world.

  We joined the Madventure Iceland tour that started in July 2023. We were a group of 24 passengers, many of whom had considerable experience of travelling on over landing tours. I think I can say on behalf of the group that we were all impressed at the way the tour was organized and conducted. The crew was always happy and informative and we had the distinct pleasure of enjoying the company of Madventure’s Karen, who was leading the tour. Meals were always substantial, nutritious and tasty, mainly due to the fact that cook groups were advised and guided by Karen’s impressive culinary experience. The Iceland itinerary took us to most of the iconic sites, and a lot of thought must have gone into balancing driving time on the road, and leisure time sightseeing. Many of the passengers are already signed up for future tours with Madventure, and my wife and I are also considering future travel with Madventure. We wholeheartedly recommend Madventure’s Iceland tour. Mel and Maria
