Back in 1989, two guys from Melbourne, Australia by the names of Darrell and Manch set off on an adventure to the other side of the world. They travelled to Africa and without air conditioning on their modified truck, they filled it with supplies, some beer, a bunch of aviator sunglasses, and...

This was my 1st Intrepid trip and will not be my last. Eowin was an amazing "camp counselor". He was funny, knowledgeable, kept us safe and happy, and made sure we had sufficient potty breaks and snacks. Loved the Intrepid itinerary, and Eowin added some hidden gems for group meals. There is no possible way we would have been able to see everything we saw, so efficiently, without doing it with an organized tour. The Intrepid staff take care of their locals and vice versa, and we were put at the "front of the line" for many tours and restaurants. This tour was clearly carefully curated, vetted, and adjusted based on traveler feedback. (Even the bathroom breaks were thoughtfully chosen to occur at tourist/picturesque stops). Thank you Intrepid and Eowin for the trip of a lifetime.

Despite challenges from heavy rains and flooding in Queensland, the tour leader was able to modify and update plans to maximize activities and locations based on conditions on the fly.

Hi David - welcome home! We're so glad to hear your leader was able to help you make the most of your time away, in spite of the wild weather. Hope to see you on another Intrepid adventure soon and may you have lots of sunshine ☀

Just amazing. Great value for money. Our tour guide Andrew was fantastic. Both very professional but also great fun. We did the Brisbane to Cairns 8 days in Feb. The hotels were really great. The boat trips etc were all excellent.

Wara our guide was exceptional. He made the tour. His knowledge, cultural background and kindness made it great. The early accommodations were poor but the Riley was great. Most meals were average to good. Not much to see on Rainbow beach and the jar-jarring trip to Lake MacKenzie was forgettable. Snorkeling and learning about Australia, especially native life were the high lites. Wara Dan made the tour-integrity, knowledge and organization. He was the best!!!

A total RIP OFF on this trip. The bus came at Brisbane to pick up us for a long 2/3 days tour was a terrible rundown 300K driven smally bus. The Intrepid did not provide any Hotels name & the itinerary didn't show any info at all. The accommodation was below average for a student backpack trip. Intrepid should know that when they are charging a big amount $500 per person daily & the travellers are from Canada, UK, Ireland, Italy etc, there should be some decency. Please DO NOT waste your time and money any time in future by booking with Intrepid.

Was one of my best trips ever. Especially travelling in a small group almost same age and the professional and flexible tour guide ! She was the key driver of this excellent experience with Intrepid.

Loved the trip, Itinery, our guide Jason who was so kind and made sure we were happy, and made friends for life that I can travel with. I thot the iteinery was very thoughtfully curated and the Jason took extra effort to make it special he showed us the funnel webs, platypus in the wild, innumerable hikes, and had us swimming in craterpools and around gorgeous waterfalls!!
